Graham Platner refuses to apologize for insulting Purple Heart recipient

Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner was confronted today by Fox News over a deleted 2019 Reddit post in which he said Purple Heart recipient Pfc. Ted Daniels “didn’t deserve to live.”

When directly asked if he owed the veteran an apology, Platner refused — and instead used his own military service as a defense: “I did four tours in the infantry, any attempt to say that I disrespect veterans is slanderous and offensive.”

Even worse, he leaned on knowing Purple Heart recipients as some kind of shield.

This is unacceptable. Veterans and their families deserve real accountability — not deflection and excuses — especially from someone running for the U.S. Senate.

Platner should own his words and apologize. Full stop.
