How will exam regulators ensure fairness and consistency of grading if GCSE is centre assessed and IGCSE is an actual exam?

Trying to get my head round where we stand with IGCSE. As I read it, currently still going ahead for international centres and independent schools in UK as IGCSE doesn’t count towards P8. GCSE and IGCSE are suppose to be equivalent qualifications so..

Well done to all the students putting pressure on the government to force the U-turn. Still shouldn’t of happened, hopefully students who didn’t get their places last Thursday will do so now. Universities were told to keep places open for students appealing grades.

Now to enjoy 8 weeks off, rest and recuperation is the 1st priority. Also staying in Dubai all summer so need to find ways to cope with the heat and not seeing family/friends. Christmas will be extra special when it comes round. @modirimaths those 🍻 are going to have to wait.

First year being head of department ✅ I knew the year would be tough but covid-19 took it to a level above. So glad the year is over and can’t thank the maths department enough for all their hard work and support. The students were incredible as well dealing with virtual school.

Last lesson with @NASDubaiSchool Y11 today, surreal experience from the normal end of year celebrations attached to Y11. The class have been amazing and taken everything in their stride as all they knew changed around them. These messages make teaching worthwhile. The best job!
