My god. What making & what an immersive experience. When a bunch of things coming together to elevate the overall experience. Sum of the parts being greater than the whole.

- First & foremost, the story itself: sailboat racing ⛵, a unique sport which many of us wouldn't have known about before. Every single sporting aspect of it was so well done & felt so authentic. Even though I know nothing about the sport itself, the terms used, rules, gameplay, tactics involved, team coordination to beat your opponent, all gave me goosebumps. There's nothing greater in life than experiencing the thrill of live sport. So a movie that tells the story of a unique sport from our very own Tamil Nadu is extremely commendable from Mathimaran.
- Powerhouse performances by the leads. Soori, what a transformation. Built like a unit, dances so well, emotes great & has levelled himself up so well. Super inspiring. Suhas was absolutely menacing, vera level villainy. Mahima Nambiar had her moments which elevated the whole movie. Sathyaraj, albeit coming only for a short time, delivers. The supporting characters who play Maari & Singaram do great too.
- The core drama & the tension surrounding it almost resembed that of a Vetrimaaran movie, the eerie tension you feel throughout.
- GV on top of his game with his background score. Love GV's work in these Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mandaadi kinda movies.
- what breathtaking cinematography by Kathir. Stunning visuals of the sea. Ik the budget of the movie is 75C, but they made it look like it was much more expensive. Breathtaking stuff.

Seriyaana padam. Totally loved watching it in IMAX 🔥

📢Andhra Pradesh🛣️

In Andhra Pradesh, we have approved ₹304.44 crore for the construction of a 5.8-km-long, 4️⃣-lane, greenfield, access-controlled highway from Kopparthy Industrial Area to Kadapa Bypass Road (MDR-437) in YSR Kadapa district.

The project also involves the construction of 1️⃣ trumpet interchange, 2️⃣ major bridges and 4️⃣ VUPs, along with the upgradation of the existing four-lane Kadapa Bypass to a four-lane configuration with paved shoulders.

The project will provide seamless connectivity between Kopparthy Industrial Area, an important node of the Visakhapatnam–Chennai Industrial Corridor, and the national highway network, strengthening regional connectivity and facilitating smoother movement of industrial traffic while helping decongest Kadapa’s urban roads.

Tourism in India—whether tiger tourism or religious tourism—is often treated more as a ritual, checklist or photo-op than as an experience to be enjoyed responsibly and sustainably.

The result is visible everywhere: tiger reserves crowded with gypsies and vehicles, temples overflowing far beyond their carrying capacity, and even Everest in Nepal struggling under the debris left behind by visitors.

There is a need to change our mindset—and redefine what responsible tourism really means otherwise we will continue to treat tourism as an easy source of revenue rather than a privilege that comes with responsibility.

Tourism should not only take us to nature and heritage but should leave them richer, cleaner and more protected.

INTERESTING: the menu for the leaders at the BRICS dinner was ‘pure’ veg. Nothing wrong with promoting vegetarianism as long as it doesn’t become a fetish. A majority of Indians are non veg (surveys show only 20-30% are veg) and unmatched cuisine diversity is the hallmark of Bharat. Can’t have coastal food without fish and Avadhi food without meat. A true slice of India would have far more variety, both veg and non veg to enhance the experience of our esteemed guests. Agree?

16 Years of Prasthanam.

A hard hitting intense look at the political world , where only self interest matters. It's not very often you get political dramas in India that offer such a hard hitting take, most tend to be too rose tinted.

The ending hits really hard especially the revelation. As Sai Kumar sums it up perfectly there are no heroes or villains here.

Maybe that's why this movie didn't do well commercially. But has become a favorite on DVD, TV.

Somehow Deva Katta's next movies were not as good as this.

Terrific performance by Sai Kumar, good performances by Sharwanand, Sundeep Kishan too.

A beautiful moment from the wild, a monitor lizard searching a tree hollow for food. This is where a monitor lizard belongs, alive, free and performing its role in nature. Yet many wild animals are taken from precisely such habitats and pushed into the brutal chain of illegal wildlife trade. The recent case of five young orangutans in Odisha spotlights the dark reach of international wildlife trafficking. But behind such shocking cases lies a vast and often invisible trade involving thousands of species, from pangolins, to lesser-noticed reptiles such as monitor lizards.

India is home to four species of monitor lizards, the Bengal Monitor, Yellow Monitor, Desert Monitor and Common Water Monitor. All four are protected under Schedule I of the Wildlife (Protection) Act. Yet they continue to be hunted and traded for their meat, skins, oil and body parts, some of which are deceptively sold for rituals and traditional remedies.

Science is now helping enforcement agencies expose this hidden crime. Scientists at Tamil Nadu’s Advanced Institute for Wildlife Conservation use DNA forensics to identify monitor-lizard remains recovered during seizures.

Wildlife crime knows no boundaries and it does not affect only the species that make headlines. Stopping it requires strong interstate and international cooperation, intelligence-sharing, vigilant enforcement by Forest Departments, Customs, DRI and WCCB, greater public awareness and scientific tools such as DNA forensics to uncover the networks and bring offenders to justice.

You would have seen this iconic scene from Bahubali many times.

The inspiration for this scene was this art work by Vaddadi Papaiah Gaaru, which he drew after the 1977 Diviseeema cyclone that wrecked Andhra Pradesh, showing a mother saving the baby from drowning.

We know Papaiah Gaaru for his Chandamama covers, especially this one of Satyabhama killing Narakasura or Mahishasura Mardini. But this is one of his not so well known works.
