Rellow Foundation secures government support to expand city cleaning efforts

After over 100 days of consistent dedication to keeping Mahikeng clean, the Rellow Foundation has received official recognition and financial support from the North West provincial government.

The organisation, known for mobilising local youth and volunteers to clean the capital city's streets and public spaces, has been awarded a contract stipend by MEC Bitsa Lenkopane. The contract, which runs from 1 June 2025 to March 2026, is expected to sustain the Foundation’s operations and boost their capacity to maintain cleanliness across Mahikeng.

In a public statement, Rellow Foundation expressed gratitude for the support, describing it as a major milestone that will allow them to deliver even higher-quality service. “This recognition motivates us to continue delivering excellent work and collaborate in fighting food-borne diseases in operational areas,” the Foundation said.

Their scope of work is now expanding beyond public streets to include high-traffic areas such as Mahikeng Mall, The Crossing, and Mega City Mall. The Foundation’s long-term vision is to maintain a consistently clean and hygienic environment across the capital city.

However, the organisation is still appealing for logistical support, particularly in terms of transportation, as teams will now be required to move between multiple locations.

The Rellow Foundation also extended heartfelt thanks to the community and local businesses for their ongoing support, promising to continue being a reliable partner in building a cleaner, healthier Mahikeng.
