For 47 years Syria was legally sealed off from the world economy. That ended this month.
The terrorism designation was rescinded. The sanctions architecture around it had already been dismantled. Capital can now legally enter Damascus for the first time since 1979.
Two weeks earlier, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a mutual-defense pact in Mecca. An attack on one is treated as an attack on all. A permanent secretariat is planned. Its founders have said openly they intend to expand it.
Daniel 11 does not describe a person first. It describes a direction. The king of the north holds the old Seleucid ground — Anatolia, Syria, northern Iraq. That territory has spent two generations bankrupt and quarantined. Ruined ground hosts nothing and projects nothing.
That constraint is now gone.
Notice what this is not. No one has been identified. No caliphate has been declared. No covenant has been signed with Israel. Nothing here requires a name, and this account will not supply one.
Scripture gives us architecture, not a lineup. Cold War prophecy was certain the Soviet Union was Gog. That certainty died with the Berlin Wall. The map outlasted the guess.
So watch the structure. Money returning to dead ground. An alliance built with the door left open.
"See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet." — Matthew 24:6
Not alarmed. Not asleep either.
06:24 AM, July 4, 2022. The summit of Mount Ararat — 16,945 feet.
Little Ararat below us. Armenia and Iran laid out to the horizon. The Araxes plain still holding the last of the mountain's shadow. What went through me up there: exhilaration, thankfulness, prayer, joy. An American on top of Ararat on Independence Day — the grin came free.
Somewhere in this country of high peaks, the waters went down and a family walked into an emptied world to begin again. God's great reset. The first one had a rainbow at the end of it. So does the last.
"And the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat." — Genesis 8:4
The descent was 8,700 vertical feet in one push. Old knees. Harder down than up. Worth every step. If you get the chance to go — go.
The book of Daniel was written for people living under hostile empire.
Not for comfort. For endurance.
Daniel served four kings across two empires — Babylon and Persia. He never compromised. He never escaped. He endured.
With events unfolding in Iran — the land where Daniel lived, prayed, and saw visions — it's time to revisit what he learned there.
"By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible." — Hebrews 11:27
Moses endured because he saw Someone the Pharaoh couldn't see.
That's the secret. Your vision determines your endurance.
If you see only Pharaoh — his power, his armies, his threats — you'll break.
If you see the Invisible God behind all visible thrones — you'll stand.
What are you looking at?
"The one who endures to the end will be saved." — Matthew 24:13
Jesus didn't say "the one who escapes." He didn't say "the one who is raptured before things get hard."
He said endures.
The entire New Testament assumes believers go through tribulation, not around it.
Are you preparing to endure?
@EndureTheManual "In times of peace, the Church prospers, but in times of chaos, the true Church always goes underground. Now is the time for the real apostolic leaders to arise." Richardson (2015)
“The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.”
Psalm 87:2
Nothing wrong with Zionism.
Furthermore, only Satan would turn something God loves into an object of deranged hatred.
Ground zero of the geopolitical battle for Western civilization is Mount Zion.
Ground zero of the theological battle for biblical hope is Mount Zion.
Ground zero of the spiritual battle unfolding before our eyes is Mount Zion.
Satan has always wanted the Throne of David.
“But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” (Psalm 2:6)
There is no such thing in the Bible as heavenly Mount Zion. Mount Zion is never taken up into heaven. Heaven (or more specifically, Jesus the King) will come down to rule on Mount Zion, on the earth. Maranatha.
One of many incredible stories to come out of the Spanish golden age is Francisco Orellana and his expedition down the Amazon in the 1540's.
Orellana was part of an expedition led by Gonzalo Pizarro (yes, a relative of Francisco Pizarro who conquered Peru).
The expedition left from Quito and was trying to find the fabled "Land of Cinnamon" which supposedly lay hidden in the jungle to the east.
What the expedition actually found was the largest river in the world - the Amazon.
Orellana was detached from the main expedition to find food, as hundreds of Spanish and native troops had died from disease and starvation.
But the strength of the current meant that Orellana couldn't return upstream in his boat. He decided to keep going, pushing deeper into the jungle with his small group of about 50 men.
According to Gaspar de Carvajal, who accompanied Orellana and wrote an account of the voyage, Orellana encountered many exotic civilisations along the Amazon, some of them quite sophisticated.
One tribe attacked with both their men and women. Reminded of the stories about warrior women written by Herodotus, Orellana named them the Amazons - and this is how the river got its name.
This expedition was the first to explore the vast region between the Andes and the Atlantic.
The fact that Orellana and his men kept on pushing deep into the unknown, in a totally alien environment with flora, fauna and culture that had never been seen by Europeans before, is a testament to the Spanish spirit of adventure during this time.
The NT says that Jesus will reign as King in the city of Jerusalem, on this earth:
"The Lord God will give him [Jesus] the throne of his father David..." (Luke 1.32)
That's not in heaven, as many claim. That's in the Middle East, in the same place where David reigned, which is why it's called, "the throne of...David."
When Jesus returns:
Jews: JESUS will rule from the Temple?!
Vast majority of Christians: Jesus will rule from the TEMPLE?!
Christians understand the first coming, Jews understand the second.
❖ Why Does the Enemy Fear the Tribe of Judah?
❖ A Three-Scene War Across the Ages
135 AD — Rome’s Strike Against Israel
Jerusalem is in ruins after the Bar Kokhba revolt. But Hadrian’s ultimate blow is not military — it is theological. He erases the name Judea and replaces it with Syria Palaestina, deliberately invoking Israel’s ancient enemies. He bans circumcision under penalty of death, outlaws Torah study, expels Jews from Jerusalem, builds a pagan temple to Jupiter on the Temple Mount, and renames the holy city Aelia Capitolina. It is identity erasure on an imperial scale — a strategic attempt to sever the Jewish people from the land, the covenants, and the expectation of a Messiah from Judah.
1940s Germany — A Manufactured Christ Without Israel
In the Third Reich, theologians create the Institute for the Study and Eradication of Jewish Influence on German Church Life. They produce a de-Judaized “Bible,” removing the Old Testament, stripping away Jesus’ genealogy, eliminating references to Abraham, David, Zion, and Jerusalem. They portray Jesus as an Aryan figure, detached from Israel and hostile to Judaism. This was not scholarship. It was state-crafted idolatry, aiming to replace the Jewish Messiah with a political symbol.
Today — Renaming the Land, Recasting the Messiah
Modern maps erase Judea and Samaria and replace them with the geopolitical term “West Bank.” Activists and influencers boldly declare Jesus “a Palestinian martyr” or “a Palestinian freedom fighter,” injecting Him into a 20th-century political narrative that did not exist in His lifetime. Universities, NGOs, and media outlets echo the rhetoric. The goal is the same as Rome and the Reich: detach Jesus from Judah, detach Judah from Israel, and detach Israel from God’s promises.
Empires rise and fall, but the pattern endures:
❖ The Enemy tries to erase Judah — because Judah carries the identity of the King who will crush him.
❖ God Anchored the Messiah to Judah
The Scriptures lock Messiah’s identity into the tribe of Judah with prophetic precision.
▶️ Genesis 49:10
“The scepter shall not depart from Judah.”
▶️ Micah 5:2
“From Bethlehem… shall come forth the ruler in Israel.”
▶️ 2 Samuel 7:13
“I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.”
▶️ Hebrews 7:14
“Our Lord was descended from Judah.”
▶️ Romans 9:5
“From their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ.”
▶️ Revelation 5:5
“Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David.”
He rooted it in Judah, David, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem.
❖ Explicit Proof That Jesus Is Jewish
The New Testament gives direct, unambiguous, legal, genealogical, and ethnic proof — not symbolism, not inference, not guesswork.
▶️ 1. His genealogy is Jewish
Matthew records His lineage through Abraham and David.
Matthew 1:1 — “Son of David, Son of Abraham.”
▶️ 2. He was raised under Torah in a Jewish home
Circumcised on the eighth day, dedicated in Jerusalem.
Luke 2:21–22 — Torah observance is central to His infancy.
▶️ 3. He lived in Judea and Galilee — not “Palestine”
Luke 2:4 — Joseph goes to “Judea, to Bethlehem.”
The land was officially called Judaea until Hadrian renamed it 100 years later.
▶️ 4. His tribal identity is explicitly stated
Hebrews 7:14 — “Our Lord was descended from Judah.”
▶️ 5. His ministry was rooted in Israel
John 1:11 — “He came to His own.”
▶️ 6. He kept Jewish feasts and taught in synagogues
Passover, Tabernacles, synagogue teaching, Torah affirmation.
▶️ 7. The apostles preached Him as Israel’s Messiah
Acts 2:36 — “Let all the house of Israel know.”
▶️ 8. His ethnicity is affirmed after the resurrection
Romans 9:5 — “From their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ.”
▶️ 9. Heaven itself affirms His Jewish identity
Revelation 5:5 — “The Lion of Judah.”
❖ Jesus is not Palestinian.
❖ Jesus is not Roman.
❖ Jesus is not a vague Middle Eastern symbol.
Jesus is the Jewish Messiah from the tribe of Judah — exactly as Scripture declares.
❖ Renaming the Land: The West Bank vs. Judea and Samaria
The world insists on “West Bank.”
God calls it Judea and Samaria — the same ground where Abraham walked, where David shepherded, where prophets thundered, where Messiah’s lineage began.
The term “West Bank” originated in 1950 when Jordan annexed the territory after Israels War of Independence. It was a political rebranding — not a biblical one.
When the world renames the land, it attempts to rename the story.
And when the story is renamed, the identity of the Messiah becomes muddled.
But God’s vocabulary remains unchanged.
▶️ Joel 3:2
“They have divided up My land.”
Heaven has never adopted the world’s language.
❖ The Prophetic Arc the Enemy Cannot Break
The Enemy has tried for two millennia to break the chain:
Judah → David → Bethlehem → Jerusalem → Mount of Olives → Second Coming.
Erase Judah, and you blur the identity of the King.
Blur Jerusalem, and you blur His throne.
Rename the land, and you obscure the covenant.
Recast Jesus, and you rewrite the gospel.
But God preserved Judah through invasion, exile, dispersion, empire, pogroms, Holocaust, and rebirth in 1948 — because the line of Messiah cannot be broken.
The Enemy fears Judah because Judah carries the decree of his destruction.
❖ Hadrian tried to erase Judah.
The Nazis tried to replace Judah.
The modern world tries to rename Judah.
But the Lion of Judah has already chosen where He will set His feet.
▶️ Zechariah 14:4
“On that day His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem.”
The world may rewrite the map.
The Enemy may rewrite the vocabulary.
But Heaven has already written the King’s identity —
and He comes from Judah, and He is returning to Jerusalem.
“I also shall make him My firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.” (Psalm 89:27)
“Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 1:5)
Both the Hebrew and the Greek indicate that Jesus will rule as the supreme King AMONG the kings of the earth.
Jesus will rule specifically from Mount Zion (Ps 2:6; Ps 110:2), while sitting on David’s throne (Isa 9:7; Jer 23:5; Luke 1:32–33).
David's throne was never in heaven.
The location of Jesus' future throne was always prophesied to be on "this mountain," (the earthly Mount Zion), never "that mountain" (up in heaven).
Biblical faith awaits the return of Jesus to rule the nations as King over the whole earth, from Mount Zion.
The Church is not Israel.
Israel is a physical people and a nation, whence the Messiah came and will return to.
Nothing changes in this regard from his first to his second coming.
Jesus came to his people and to his country the first time, and he will come to his people and to his country the second time.
The Church is a spiritual body that is grafted into Israel, and will thus be with Jesus, the leader of Israel, when he returns, just like his disciples were with him in Israel 2,000 years ago.
In the aftermath of a Mamdami win, as most are trying to assign blame, to make 'gotcha' comments, I'd like to offer a few very important observations. If you are a pastor or thought leader, please pause your scrolling to consider this moment in American hiostory with me.
Whether you realized it or not, the perfect storm is here. I know Ecclesiastes says that "nothing is new under the sun," but this really is something new.
The old status quo, the liberal myth of endless compromise that most of us have always lived under, is over. The age of revolution is here.
Younger folks in particular across the spectrum feel economically cornered, underemployed, in debt, and shut out of a bright, stable future. The hopelessness and deep desperation they feel is naturally leading them to embrace reactionary and radical solutions. When any civilization stops offering purpose, its children will desperately seek it elsewhere, anywhere. The spiritual and economic vacuum right now is incredibly similar to pre-World War II conditions.
Right-wing reactionaries (The Groypers) and the left-wing reactionaries (The Marxists) are both symptoms of the same spiritual and economic collapse. Both are children of the same storm, sons and daughters of what feels like a dying empire, a dying world.
Both are turning to revolution. Both see each other as the enemy. War is inevitable.
Sounds scary? This is just the start. Into this perfect storm, something very new has emerged: Artificial Intelligence. Within a decade, the world will be unrecognizable. Overnight, AI is going to radically alter the landscape of employment. It will outright challenge what it means to be human. Even the world's most brilliant futurists have no idea what the future will look like.
Okay, ready for this?
AI is not so much going to determine our future, as it will reveal our hearts. I have so much more to say, but for now, I have to drive my kids to school.
The Church is presently being sifted by "the controversy of Zion." We are seeing the division between those who love and tremble at God’s Word and those who twist it. Just as in Gideon’s day, the Lord is refining His army, separating the faithful few who will stand with His Word:
"Has God rejected His people? May it never be!" (Romans 11:1–2)
"If this fixed order departs… then the offspring of Israel will cease from being a nation before Me forever." (Jeremiah 33:6)
"For the Lord has a controversy with the nations; He will plead for Zion." (Isaiah 34:8)
To stand with Israel is to stand with the covenant-keeping God. The controversy of Zion is revealing who truly knows His heart.
