India gets about 10 million foreign tourists a year.
Dubai gets 18 million.
Dubai is basically one long road. We are 1.4 billion people with the Himalayas, Goa, Rajasthan, Kerala, the Andamans, 5,000 years of history and arguably the best food in the world :)
Something doesn’t add up.
Two men who built India’s biggest travel and hotel businesses agree on one thing: the country is easy to leave, hard to visit.
India has transformed dramatically over the last decade, better roads, airports, digital infrastructure and connectivity. Maybe tourism is the next big opportunity.
In this episode, the CEOs of MakeMyTrip and Taj Hotels tell us 5 things that could get a lot more of the world to come visit India, and where the opportunities for entrepreneurs might lie along the way.
Episode out now..
@TheAhmadOsman Venice tried on Akash Network using decentralised compute for inference workloads. Like crypto anyone can host an Akash Node. My guess is they faced reliability issues of such a platform.
Healthcare workers are the last type of workers to be roboticised.
India should train a lot more in that industry considering the young average age and export across the world.
Better than exporting construction labour which might get mechanised in the near future.
@AaryanPrateekX Govt should restart swacch bharat mission but this time instead of bureaucrat, it should be open to all. Any group of people can clean an area and with video and other proofs take money from the govt once complete.
That will unlock gamification of garbage cleanup.
Since the debt $ taken for crash bailouts, wars, subsidies, covid checks etc by US doesn't exit the US the rest of the world gets inflated away by bidding for the same commodities and assets.
The house I live in India, used to be worth 40 lakhs in early 2000s but now is 4 crores which gives a 10X inflation.
Wherever US gives the new printed $ those do not inflate so swiss franc, Euro, GBP have been stable in house prices and currency since they got the new $, probably have 2X land prices inflation like US as well.
BRICS and others didn't get the $, so their land prices have gone 8-10X or more. Validated with Russia, Brazil and India. Probably others as well.
This is why truth social and US policies are important because it tells the world who gets inflated away and who doesn't as only they have the exorbitant priviledge.
PS: US invested $2Tn in EU and $100Bn in India since 2015 via FDI.
@EmmarieTarot@Lammyisback We think from all perspectives and give an unbiased opinion and some solutions but it turns out all that typicals need is empathy and you hating the boss with them, probably come up with another similar example of why you hate your own boss as well and why all bosses are bad. 😑
@prakdadlani We tried manufacturing phones a decade back at Creo launching to be oneplus of India. The speed and scale at which China was able to manufacture sample pieces, code sharing, contracts, MoU, factory visits opened our eyes. Sad to know things haven't changes since then.
India is Chaos, Crowds and Confinement.
Tourists want Silence, Solitude and Space.
India lacks Privacy, Silence, Physical Space, Social-Trust, Fresh and Clean Air, Greenery, Cleanliness, Affordable Nutritious Food, Walkability, Civic Sense, Law and Order, Due Process, Intellectual Ferment, Manners.
Goa, Kerala and Sikkim are exceptions. But they are being spoiled by Dehati tourists.
Just like Ramayan coming out in a few months, Bollywood should do next movie on Siddhartha-> Buddha, shot in Bodh Gaya.
That will build so much influence amongst ASEAN for India.
Probably an Aditya Dhar movie with peak detailing.
As good as Claude code/cursor are, do your dev on OSS editors & Deepseek/Llama on Venice via the API key to ensure your code is not farmed by the LLM providers & the agent runs on decentralised system.
