The Income Tax Overseas Unit, Embassy of India, The Hague, in association with the ICAI Netherlands Chapter, organized a webinar on “Navigating India’s New Tax Landscape: Key Updates on the Income-tax Act, 2025, GST and GIFT City” on 29th June 2026.

Under India’s chairship of the BRICS YTP Working Group, a virtual meeting on Best Practices on Modern Tax Administration was convened, bringing together experts from Egypt, Brazil, Russia and India to share experiences and innovations shaping modern tax administration. India presented its experience in modern tax administration, highlighting a shift towards trust-based, technology-enabled governance and taxpayer-centric service delivery. Key initiatives such as the NUDGE campaign and SAKSHAM showcased the use of data-driven, non-intrusive interventions to promote voluntary compliance, alongside broader reforms focused on simplification, digitalization and ease of doing business.
Reaffirming its role in fostering international tax cooperation, India remains committed to promoting knowledge exchange, strengthening collaboration, and supporting capacity building across BRICS countries.

💠 Prarambh-2026, a flagship outreach event on the Income Tax Act, 2025, was organized by the Embassy of India, Paris in collaboration with CCIFI, with EY as Knowledge Partner.
💠 Shri Bhaskar Goswami, Joint Secretary (FT&TR-II), CBDT, delivered the keynote address, followed by presentations and expert-led discussions on India’s tax reforms, investment facilitation measures, and opportunities under GIFT City.
