Shipped the weekend product 👀

MacWatch - native macOS 14+ menu-bar security monitor. Swift + SwiftUI, Apple frameworks only.

What it actually watches:
• Camera / mic device running (no frames, no audio)
• LaunchAgents startup changes
• Remote Login / SSH config + active SSH sessions
• Listening TCP/UDP ports (process + exposure)
• Sleep / wake gaps

Optional SigNoz Cloud export over OTLP so the same stuff lands as structured logs - cameraActivated, listeningEndpointOpened, startupModified, etc. Built a small dashboard on top too (video).

Honest limits: not antivirus. No screen-capture detection. Empty history ≠ this Mac is safe.

I have been working on my weekend product since yesterday and it is finally taking shape. Will ship a demo today!!

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@awesamarth_ You mena 6.1 sol right?

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@giadotai I mean yeah… I asked my 5.6 sol to doom scroll in @AsideAI browser and it did without any issues.

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@makeavish11 😂😂😂

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@AsideAI 🙌🙌

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@eddiejaoude Yep, tbh it is growing rapidly.

AI has hust enabled us to to create oss alternative apps for ourselves for which we dont want to pay.

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@yuvraajsj18 @thsottiaux @TheRohanVarma @OpenAIDevs Yeah.. it just break my flow when I am locked in.

Problem In Codex 🥲🥲🥲:

I wanted my dot, SnowDen, to research and plan a project, then coordinate directly with a local Codex chat inside my Mac project.

It first created a cloud-hosted chat with execution on my Mac. I clarified that I wanted the conversation itself in my local Codex project too.

A local chat was eventually created, but direct communication still failed. SnowDen’s available interface couldn’t read that local chat’s format, and its direct-send attempt was blocked. The workaround required another cloud chat as a relay, which I didn’t want.

The workflow I’m looking for: discuss and approve a plan with my dot, delegate to my local Codex project, and have the dot follow progress and communicate with that chat directly.

Is there a supported way to do this today? Am I missing a setup step, or is this a current limitation? If it isn’t supported yet, is it something you plan to address?

[Saurabh Patil @SaurabhPatilDev]

@BatsouElef Depends... if it not personal project AI just becomes side kick.

If it's personal project well AI owns it and I am sidekick 😅

a hiring manager writing "experience with signoz" in a job description

i went looking last week

140 roles at 102 companies across 36 countries now mention signoz
55 of them posted in the last 3 months alone

a few that made me smile

Mistral, hiring SREs across europe
"observability stack in production: prometheus, grafana, opentelemetry, loki, tempo, signoz"

Netapp, devops in tel aviv
"monitor production environments for issues using tools like prometheus, signoz, and elasticsearch"

Nutanix, backend engineers with
"experience with observability tools like grafana, prometheus, splunk, jaeger, signoz"

Airasia, senior SREs in kuala lumpur
"familiarity with monitoring and tracing tools like cloud monitoring, opentelemetry, signoz"

india and the US lead, then brazil and the UK

the part i like most: most JDs list us right next to datadog and new relic

for a tool that started as an open source repo, that's the category we wanted to be in

to every engineer who pushed for AigNoz at work and then made it popular enough to be part of the next JD, thank you!
