So far Jackson has done the American pledge, the Texas pledge, had his breakfast, and is now on to science learning about traits! #homeschool2020@keri_rivas31@NoelLonghorns
@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15#noelculturize@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod I think about this every time I have to have a more serious conversation with students or specific students. Some students require a different environment and tone in order for them to converse calmly with a teacher.
@JennieChavez15 It can be really easy to criticize what someone else is doing if we think it to be wrong. I agree with Teague that we have to think what it's like to be in their spot. One action that you see or hear could be just the tip of the ice berg of what is really going on.
@JennieChavez15 Segura cooks for us and we all know food makes everyone feel appreciated! We are all busy trying to do a good job, but some are better at things than others. Being open to help others with what you're good at is helpful, and sharing when you see someone doing a great job.
@JennieChavez15 I realized a long time ago that not everything will go the way I plan. I can be extremely prepared, and something will still come up. I've come to learn to stay flexible, I can't change things that are out of my control, and the only thing I can do is learn from it and move on.
@JennieChavez15 I believe that the classroom jobs that I have assigned to my students help to empower them to carry a leadership roll, whether they are checking mail, line leader, paper passer, etc. Some jobs require them to monitor others so they must model leadership and good behavior.
@JennieChavez15 Before school started, Ms. Watson brought our team Starbucks, Mrs. Segura made our entire team shirts to help create a closer team, Mr. Stuckwisch graces us with a joke to start our morning off with a chuckle. My team has created a completely different atmosphere than I've had.
@JennieChavez15 Leadership to me means setting a good example for anyone that might be watching, whether it be employees, co-workers, children, friends, etc. I try to instill good values and appropriate behavior in my child and students daily. I try to lead by example so that they will as well.
@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 I think writing is a "subject" that possibly isn't made as fun as other subjects. I like the idea in the book suggesing help at home. Having that support would help push the importance and practice to where maybe the students wouldn't see as writing because it's not in school.
@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 I try to build relationships with my students by asking questions about their life outside of school. What sports do they play, ask details about trips that they have taken, ask about siblings. It gives me a better idea of what they are dealing with outside of school hours.
@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 Each day I find a reason why I do what I do. Whether it be that I finished any documentation I had to complete about a child, or reflecting on success that I saw in children throughout the day. Some days are harder than others, but there always seems at least one good thing.
@gabie11c@JennieChavez15 I've had to learn to not let others affect my attitude. It's still difficult to not take it personally if someone is short or in a bad mood due to something that doesn't involve me, but I just keep my distance until the person is more ready to be social. :)
@4thgradeWatson @JennieChavez15 The amount of motivation absolutely matters! Some days I get everything done in an hour, some days it takes me longer to get simple tasks done.
