This 90 year old Ladakhi granny in Switzerland offers to come & sit on fast at Jantar Mantar if need be.
Unlike most Indians who migrate abroad, for 63 years she has taken pride in her Indian citizenship.

After a day's rest I joined the women's fast today.
Next it's the Pashmina March on 7th April... on the lines of Gandhi ji's Dandi March.

END 21st Day OF MY #CLIMATEFAST
I'll be back...
7000 people gathered today.
It was the end of the 1st leg of my fast. Btw 21 days was the longest fast Gandhi ji kept.
From tomorrow women's groups of Ladakh will take it forward with a 10 Days fast, then the youth, then the monks from monasteries... then me again n so on. The journey has only started.
But we still hope n trust we won't have to do all this. Sooner rather than later a sense of responsible leadership will arise in @narendramodi ji n @AmitShah ji

20th Day OF MY #CLIMATEFAST
3000 people fasting with me. But still not a word from the government.
Very unusual for a democracy... when 90% of the population have come out to remind the leaders of their promises and 100s have been on fast some for 20 days.
But we're very impressed by the public support nationwide... making up for the compromised mainstream media.

Today some 5000 people joined me here at Leh for day long fast and some 300 are sleeping here... for 3 to 10 days fast.
Today all over India, some 40 cities saw Friends of Ladakh events.
Ladakh it's people and its mountains & glaciers will remain ever grateful for this show of solidarity.

120 people sleeping outdoors under clear skies. Temperature: - 8 °C
16 days of just water n salts is finally taking a toll. Feeling quite week. But I can still drag for another 25 days n perhaps will.
I'm sure our path of truth will win eventually.
In Anna Hazare's case Parliament unanimously passed the Lokpal Bill by the 13th day of his fast. Mahatma Gandhi had to sit for 21 days.
Let's see how long ours takes...!
We shall overcome some... day.

Our nomads are losing prime pasture land to huge Indian industrial plants to the south & Chinese encroachment to the north
To show the ground reality we're planning a Border March of 10,000 Ladakhi shepherds & farmers soon.

250 people slept hungy in - 12 °C to remind the Indian Government of their promises to safegurad Ladakh's environment and tribal indigenous culture. 
First of all many heartfelt thanks to all who participated in yesterday's protests in different cities. Updates are still pouring in & we'll share this evening.
This Government likes to call India the 'Mother of Democracy'. But if India denies democratic rights to people of Ladakh & continues to keep it under bureaucrats controlled from New Delhi then it could only be called a Stepmother of Democracy as far as Ladakh is concerned.

I BEGIN MY 10th DAY OF #CLIMATEFAST 11,500 ft altitude
Temperature this morning was -15 °C. Some 110 people and I slept in the open in solidarity with our glaciers and fragile nature in high Himalayas and 2000 people are on fast during the day.
Democracy has a big drawback. Politicians only think of next 5 years and sell off ecosensitive zones for the profit of few rich industrialists. The local people are left face the consequences for generations. Then when human induced disasters strike it costs more than those profits but this time it's paid from tax payers money. This story has been repeated all over Himalayas from Himachal to Uttranchal to Sikkim. This could at best be called cleverness, not even intelligence.
We in Ladakh believe we need wisdom not cleverness.

BEGINNING OF DAY 8 OF MY #CLIMATEFAST
Today temperatures plumetted to - 10° C
due to clear skies.
Undeterred dozens of people are sleeping in the open not only here with me but also in border villages.
However shepherds from the border village of Phobrang were stopped by the security forces roughly 15 kms before the pastures they used to roam freely till few years ago. This gives an idea of the loss of their pastures on the Indo-China border
