Great news, we now have about 1600 signatures. Do read this comment, and sign the petition. Thank you! This sculpture always told me I was nearly home. It is iconic, like the magic roundabout. Please don’t take it away! https://t.co/VGyaDrNo3J via @UKChange
We have almost 1600 signatures now. If you haven't please share and sign the petition. Lots of lovely comments of support, here's one: It's an iconic sculpture which is accessible to everyone and is interesting and fun. I love it. https://t.co/xMrSNiQDpm via @UKChange
Read this comment, and sign the petition. I worked at SWALEC in their Cardiff bay office when this was commissioned and it really did stand as a symbol for regeneration of what were then ambitious plans. It reminds me every time I drive p... https://t.co/kZnpGBMZYz via @UKChange
Read this comment, and sign the petition. I knew this great artist. I still know his family. Planners fuss endlessly over a heritage facade of a pretty basic house. Where’s the protection for proper art which is our heritage? https://t.co/wZ07b2mbqZ via @UKChange
The petition by @saveblueflash to save Cardiffs iconic Blue Flash Power Box and Meshchips has now amased over 1,000 signatures. Western Power, which owns the land said it wanted a solution the family would be happy with.

This is worrying. The structure was not designed to be temporary or moved. The integrity of the work needs to be maintained. This needs a proper discussion between City Council, Arts Council Wales & Welsh Gov to represent the community’s interest, not planning by press release.
Thanks to everyone for their support today. Our petition is closing in on 1000 signatures with wonderful statements of appreciation for this landmark and its importance to the City. More soon.
Here's the man behind the sculpture - John GIngell - on site in 1994 when his work was shortlisted in the BBC Wales Arts Awards (remember them?) @saveblueflash
A quick update on @saveblueflash. I now understand that WPD believes the artwork is iconic - "would not like to destroy it at all, we would like to maintain it", though it may be moved to different part of the site. Council officers now engaged to protect the integrity of the art
