@LibbyBudd@james_rands Yes, some Cllrs saw sense at the time. The tactic may have worked for Tudeley but the people of Capel should never have been sacrificed by the rest of the borough. Legal help to get this far does not come cheap and it has been paid for by those living in the parish.
@james_rands Turns out tho that having a plan with huge swathes of unsustainable development isnt better than not having a plan tho! Cllrs should have listened to sense at the time and got it fixed before the costs mounted up
@james_rands The inspector picked up on most of the points @savecapel highlighted years ago. Concerns that were ignored by many Cllrs when they voted to take the plan forward - Maybe in the hope that their own parishes would not then be blighted by development?
@Twellsense And the inspector pointed out so many of the flaws in the plan that @savecapel highighted back in 2019! so much time and money wasted to try and push through a flawed plan... and why?
Interesting that the Inspector still has to ask for so much information on 'Duty to Cooperate' - TWBC knew other Local Plans had failed on this, so surely they should have adopted a belt and braces approach... https://t.co/1AqqVbAVyw
@angela_funnell When TMBC and Sevenoaks plans failed on DTC surely TWBC should have paused to think to, but instead they spend 4m before admitting it may be a problem.
@angela_funnell So, if Duty to Cooperate was known to be such a difficult thing to have got right, why did TWBC continue to push the plan forward at great cost and against the trend to pause for clarification re greenbelt?
Day 2 of the public Local Plan examination. It's certainly worth a listen . We hope that all the Cllrs that voted the draft plan through are now paying attention to what they voted for. https://t.co/5maTYIreei
There is growing voter anger about the 17000+ acres of green space Kent could lose if developers are allowed to take the easy option to build on greenfield instead of brownfield Kent MPs beware! @GregClarkMP #savekentsgreenspaces
