England's controversial first cycle street was used by only HALF the cyclists each day that the public were led to believe, FOI request shows https://t.co/SNJl8V1UIJ
Rob lit up Madingley Hill like a runway to show what a line on a map really means on the ground: farmland cut in two, hedgerows torn out, and Coton Orchard facing devastation 🌳🚌❌ #SaveCotonOrcard ✏️ https://t.co/Kdn0HMmvZ3
Congratulations to Paul Bristow as the new Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We welcome his plan for delivering light rail to get the region moving. It’s time to turn the corner on the lost decade of the GCP C2C & CSET Busways & build a positive system of mass transit. 😃
The “GCP spokesperson” claims in @Cambslive that “The on-road options have been fully assessed and, if bus lanes were to be provided, they would also damage areas such as Madingley Wood, an ancient woodland and site of special scientific interest, and the setting of the American Cemetery.” This is misleading. The on-road alternative utilises the existing road, which remains regardless of the chosen routing. The @CambridgePPF alternative, which safeguards Coton Orchard, has the backing of the AMC Superintendent and experts. Journalists, next time GCP tells you this, challenge them to explain precisely what damage the SSSI would suffer 📺 https://t.co/BtVo3IGuP6
Campaigners are pursuing a legal challenge to the GCP's £200m #Cambourne to #Cambridge busway - arguing there is a better, cheaper, less damaging alternative

“Ladies & gentlemen here is the A14 mitigation project… thousands and thousands of plastic tree guards and not a single tree has survived … fabulous work !”
Today @CBG_Connect submitted to DfT an objection to the @GreaterCambs Cambourne - Cambridge Busway. The busway will harm precious Green Belt near Cambridge, which is unnecessary - great alternatives exist. The busway is outmoded & poor value. We offer plans for a better future 😀
‘The GCP’s proposed Cambourne to Cambridge busway, sold as “green” with promises of electric buses and active travel, falls far short of its claims. These habitats, formed over decades, cannot be replaced by token planting.’ 🗞️ Andrew Levy https://t.co/wGdHrVrMTc via @MailOnline
Good luck to Cambridge Past, Present and Future legal action against nature-destroying Cambridge-Cambourne off-road busway proposed by @GreaterCambs. Save an irreplaceable Habitat of Principal Importance & greenbelt! @CotonView@CotonBuzz@savecromelea

@sky_larking @dave4labour @CotonView@camcitco@GreaterCambs We’ve repeatedly pointed to the relevant pages of the TWAO and leading experts on orchards and biodiversity weighed in. Dave knows the harm goes beyond ‘5 old trees,’ yet he keeps gaslighting the public. This scheme is costly—financially and environmentally—and unfit for purpose.
