After losing a daughter to a psychopath, I traveled for about two years working and writing until a was strong enough to cope with the rage and despair. That strength allowed moments like this. I know many have sought out revenge to make them feel in control. That’s the delusion: we are never in control. Only God.

God did not take my daughter, and He did not write a script for her life to have been taken. That isn’t how this all works. But he will provide comfort to those who did not take matters into their own after being hurt. Vengeance will be His on the day He decides. Pray for peace, love and justice. You will obtain all three. If I enacted revenge, I would end up where the evil went to. Not only would I miss out on seeing my daughter someday, but I would miss the opportunity to be with my wife and be here for the birth of our son.

Life happens, and it’s our responsibility to cope with it. I have seen violent people attack others for their “role” in their suffering. The emotional fragility of many today has led to suffering of others. If you cannot cope, get help. You may miss the chance at peace.
