I can’t believe in 2026 we still have people that don’t understand how incredibly biodiverse, unique and threatened the flora and fauna of Western Australia is - especially a member of council! 😤

There is almost no where else on earth so diverse with endemic species that you can drive an hour and pass through the habitat of half a dozen different Peacock Spiders and dozens of orchid species! ☀️
I don’t care if it’s only one tree or one bush, we have lost SO much bushland in the south-west and we are guaranteed to have caused so many EXTINCTIONS already of species that never got the chance to be documented! ‼️

When will we understand that constant destruction of these habitats is not progress? We are so lucky to live in the most biodiverse country on earth and we need to start PRIORITISING the little remaining but incredible habitats of the south-west! 👊
