The future is a little uncertain in terms of my involvement and this account, but I'll speak to Jim and discuss how to keep all of you updated on the proceedings. Thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart. This is why I love NYC ❤️ (5/5)
Destruction of the Grand Prospect Hall has officially commenced, photos here from our colleague @CostumeJim. Our efforts to save the historic facade are, unfortunately, over. (1/5)
That's not even mentioning @verde_nyc, @Cryptome_org, and all the journalists who provided priceless support throughout our fight. So, to all who signed, shared, and showed up, thank you. We didn't save the building, but we'll keep fighting. (4/5)
@GranProspecHall was a great venue for our Hungarian music. We would ignore the schedule and play during Golden Fest. One more reason to support @savethegph.

The city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission will not make the @GranProspecHall into a landmark, but community activists from @savethegph haven’t given up on saving the building. Read more here:
The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission denied a request to consider designating Park Slope, Brooklyn’s Grand Prospect Hall as a local landmark, eliminating a roadblock in the building’s demolition. https://t.co/3yDoaSRHfC
Thoughtful OpEd by Jim Glaser on how community members tried to save The Grand Prospect Hall. W/ the LPC rejection of landmark status hopefully the developer will come to the table to create some form of community space.

Some unfortunate news: @nyclandmarks has denied our request. Nonetheless, we plan to keep working to try and save the facade by halting work or discussing with the developer ways to preserve the facade. We will update you soon.

"Grand Prospect Hall is no less than a magical vortex...to my Eastern European heritage. It was first Great Gatsby... then it was Poland...then when the Romanians arrived we danced arm and arm and I learned about yet another beautiful culture." https://t.co/1JDGxUmuF3
