But “the system works.” 🤨
Worse, we have people in the SBC defending this church’s position of straight up egalitarianism.
Can the “I’m complementarian, but…” crowd please get off the fence and support the @sbcamendment ?
Five weeks until the SBC Annual Meeting.
The future of the SBC hangs in the balance. And decisions will be made by those who take the time to come.
Come and vote for:
The @sbcamendment
Financial transparency
A conservative President
In light of the Baptist Press article floating around about the @sbcamendment , I thought I’d re-share this. I address several of his points in my article.

Arguably the most powerful man in the SBC is lobbying against the Law Amendment, which would require SBC churches to adhere to Scripture on the question of women pastors.
The piece he promotes argues, in essence, that erecting boundaries where God’s Word has erected boundaries (by reserving the pastorate for men) could prove “unintentionally damaging.”
Why? Essentially, the author says, because the mission field is “white with harvest” and approaching that field as God has decreed would take our focus off of missions. The article insists the SBC is not in danger of liberalism. Yet this argument itself is a product of liberalism!
As Machen showed in his classic Christianity and Liberalism, arguing that we must compromise doctrine for the sake of evangelism is always the tactic of liberalism, which asks, "May [taking a firm stance on clear doctrines] not discourage contribution to mission boards? May it not hinder the progress of consolidation, and produce a poor showing in columns of Church statistics?"
Did God not know what would be "damaging" to His Church when He laid down this proscription against women pastors? If so, perhaps this author would do better to take his concerns to Him. Maybe he can convince God to think better of His boundaries.
“For the smaller church who’s struggling to get by and maybe even pay their bills, they deserve to know that the entities that they give their money to are being transparent with that money.”
Yes! Thank you, Wes Russell.
We need 990 transparency now.

The United Methodist Church is the latest to prove this ironclad rule:
Every single LGBT-affirming church is assuredly & thoroughly egalitarian, & you cannot find a single complementarian church that is LGBT-affirming.
I explain why here: https://t.co/SuNtQlu3ek
If you are interested with what has gone on with with the SBC the past ten years and the ERLC and the exit of Russell Moore in particular, then this podcast is a must listen. Well done @jrwhitehead & @williamwolfe. Very enlightening.
