“First black woman to represent GB in a swimming event at Olympic Games” what an accolade 💫 #savewavelengths inspired to dream big @alicedearingx @BlackSwimAssoc
So excited to officially announce that I have been selected as a @teamgb athlete for the Tokyo 2020 games. I have qualified in the marathon swimming race (10KM, open water).
My selection makes me the first black woman to represent GB in a swimming event at the Olympic Games.

Fantastic news🎉What an amazing campaign @SaveWavelengths ran-professional/powerful but also just down to earth showing how important this swimming pool🏊♀️ 🏊♂️ was to families in Deptford & surrounds-just shows People Power can still WIN out👏👏👏#Community
I could not be prouder of the campaigners I've met through @SaveWavelengths - a firm victory for community activism, but local people deserve the very best leisure facilities and we will continue to push for them!

Used to be able to pick up a nice bit of speed on the light pink one.
Will always remember the pure excitement in the pool when the alarm went and you could go and queue!
@invictaprimary wish #savewavelengths could see the kids faces on school council when they hear what they’ve achieved - little voices making big waves! 👩🏽🤝👨🏿💥
