We are very proud to announce that MTAG President Martin Wurt has been named the City of Maribyrnong’s 2024 Citizen of the Year. Martin has been campaigning to get trucks off Maribyrnong’s residential streets for almost 25 years.

We are very much hoping that the heavy vehicle detour is enforced by the @NHVR, and that trucks do not end up using Hyde St and Leek St.

SOMERVILLE RD CLOSURE
From 9pm tonight - 24th Feb the Somerville Rd westbound lanes will be closed between Whitehall & Hyde Streets. This will be 24/7 including weekends.
Trucks will be detoured via Francis St &
other traffic will be detoured via Leek & Hyde Streets.

Complete mayhem on the cnr of Moore St & Ballarat Rd this arvo causing a huge power blackout throughout Footscray, 12 sets of traffic lights down, a smashed house roof and the blocking of both roads

The sooner these things are removed from residential streets the better
