I'd guess the marketing department wanted to have "5 new stations" as opposed to 3 new stations and extra platforms at MC & FSS
Footscray station platform 6 escalators finally set to open at night!
After a month of back-and-forth emails, I'm glad to report that @metrotrains will trial allowing passengers to use the escalators on P6 on certain evenings (AFL games & other major events)

but I am dreading another email from Metro saying 'errr ackchyually, we've had a complaint from a single resident and youse passengers aren't that important to us'
4 months after opening our flagship new metro tunnel and the maps on the trains are still misleading passengers with outdated info!
apparently the maintenance PPP for the HCMT fleet is to blame?!

whether it was born out in the statistics or not, many people had the perception that the trains were off limits after dark. now, they're full.
a far cry from 30 years ago when only 1 out of 3 carriages had lights on for the handful of hardy souls onboard.
