“I didn’t have time.”
What you actually mean is there are other things more important to you. Other things you would rather be doing. And that’s okay. It’s your life. You do you. But when you’re not getting the results you want the first place you need to look is in the mirror. YOU are a product of YOU. The effort you give and your attitude towards life. You will learn long term success is earned, it doesn’t just happen. “Time” is either an excuse or an ally.
Bless the coaches who hold all kids accountable for grades, conduct & behavior. Never doubt that choosing discipline over a win is the right thing. It matters. That example says that regardless of how good a player is, he/she will be held to a very high standard. That’s powerful!
Great teammates don't protect each other when someone's out of line. Great teammates protect the culture because they realize no one is bigger than the team.
