If we're really thinking like investors, then I feel a 2x isn't even realistic for the Dangote IPO rn. Maybe a 5-10% increase before the massive sell off.

₦525 per share already puts the refinery at roughly ₦65.2 Trillion

For context, the entire NGX is around ₦157.6 Trillion. So for Dangote to 2x from here, it would need to reach ₦130.4 Trillion. That's roughly 83% of the entire Nigerian stock market rn.

And institutional investors already bought in through a $2.5B private placement at a $40B valuation but now the IPO is asking the public to enter closer to $49B.

Then you have to ask how sustainable the current earnings are.

The refinery's recent H1 profit came during an unusually favourable global fuel market, with supply disruptions boosting demand.

When those tailwinds fade and future tax changes start eating into margins, that valuation might become harder to maintain.

Is it a great company? Absolutely.

But is it a great entry price tho? That's what I'm wondering

If anyone is even hoping to buy then I'd treat this as 5-10 year position with money you don't really need within that space, not sure about a 2x play though.
