🚀 After a year of quiet building, I’m excited to officially announce @champ_hq out of stealth. We're also announcing our $8.5M Seed round led by @Redpoint with participation from @defyvc , @Max , @svangel, and a great group of angels. Watch the quick launch video below
@signulll i just read that this device is slotted for 2028. but by that time isn’t that focus going to shift to the next mainstream consumer device, aka Vision? the iPhone will become a device powering most things around it (Watch, Vision, AirPods), so maybe it’s UX won’t matter much?
it’s an extremely well timed transition
in june Cook will announce the Gemini powered Apple Intelligence and Siri taking all the criticism on delays and product quality for it
in september Ternus will announce the new iPhone Fold and Apple Vision and take all the wins from it
The timing of Ternus’s takeover - September - is also tied, in part, to Apple wanting him to host the event debuting the foldable iPhone, the biggest change in the product’s 19 year history. He drove its development.

one way to do this that would get sf to embrace it with open arms is to have the industrial design cohort (the jony ives and other crew who’ve designed all the epic consumer gadgets in last 20 years) start an overall design school and naturally expand that to fashion
Someone said to me that the way to import 40 thousand art hoes to SF to teach engineers love (and thus save humankind) would be to open an elite fashion school. Considering the materials science infrastructure this is actually the obvious path forward for fashion
