Popped up today with a DNP due to a ‘fibula’

The fibula is the bone on the outside of the lower leg that makes up the ankle. Not a common occurrence on the injury report. In fact it’s very rare.

While they didn’t specify which leg, I’m assuming it’s the leg he suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle last year that cost him the first 3 games of the season and required an unexpected 2nd surgery in the spring.

There’s a possibility he’s dealing with pain, swelling or maybe the hardware is bothering him.

I expected him to struggle the first 4 weeks after he returned, and he has. 3 for 26 in both weeks.

I’m not sure if this is enough to keep him out Week 6, but it will definitely impact him.

Thankfully Emeka Egbuka has been smashing because Mike Evans isn’t ready to return yet (hamstring).

Setbacks aren’t uncommon with such a significant injury like Godwin sustained.
