I sleep without a “goodnight”
I wake up without a “good morning”
I can live without a “I’m proud of you”
Because…
at the end of the day, all I’v got is myself.
Telling her your not ready for a relationship but then expecting her to give you relationship benefits is abuse. It’s confusing. It’s hurtful. Stop it.
The last couple months I’ve been the realest. I had my heart broken, got my shit together, lost the person I thought would be in my life forever, went from being friends with everybody to keeping my circle small. I’ve learned that nobody is really down for you like you’d think.
Even if you go for it and it doesn’t workout, you still took a W. You had the guts to head strait into something that seemed so scary. That type of bravery will take you very far.
My last relationship taught me that the more chances you give someone, the less they value you. They’re not afraid to lose you because they know no matter what, you won’t walk away. Never let someone get too comfortable with disrespecting you. Love yourself first.
Life changes. You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone. And then without even realizing it, these pieces come back. New love enters. Better friends come along. And a stronger, wiser you is staring back in the mirror.
Screw a breakup, have y’all ever been in that weird stage where you’re more than friends but less than a relationship?
And then something changes and you have to sit there and slowly watch that person pull away out of your life?
Thats a different kind of pain.
