I redesigned the Antares a bit more, with the interior inspired by Starfleet Academy blueprints. A few things have moved to different places compared to the previous version 😅

@gaghyogi49 I was so happy to see Lt. M’Ress and a Skorr! The Enterprise truly felt like a Federation starship to me with such a diversity of aliens onboard and in the senior staff! I really hope something changes so we can get year one 🤩

The @Pioneer__Labs video also shows us a @CJHandmer "Domes are overrated" air mattress-type habitat. Aerogel is interesting because you can effectively make it invisible, thick and airtight (though those three have never been demonstrated at the same time to my knowledge).
For radiation shielding, the terrain would block about 50% of the radiation (if the slopes cover 30° or more, ie 1pi steradian), and a surrounding magnetic field could cut the dose by another 1/3 to 1/2 depending on configuration and intensity. You could therefore reduce the dose by up to 75% before thinking about physical shielding -- for which polymers are a great choice.
BREAKING NEWS! The first microbe for terraforming Mars has been built.
@Pioneer__Labs organism is called sPL.001, and it's the first of five the company is working on with the goal of making Mars green. Huge congratulations to everyone involved. Now, better send a batch to our rusty neighbor before the planetary protection commies try and stop it.
Here's what Pioneer Labs did 👇
sPL.001 is an engineered bacterium that grows on raw Martian analog dirt, water, and carbon pulled from processed air as acetate. It does not need fertilizer from Earth, and it does not need the toxins of Martian soil stripped out first. The product is bioplastic for habitats and other pressurized structures, qnd radiation shielding.
Their analysis of how their microbe can be scaled up says one rocket's worth of gear could grow enough material to start building a city in about four years.
That is organism one: tensile building material. The rest of the stack is the actual terraforming toolkit.
2. A microbe for transparent films, so you can grow greenhouse "skins" on site instead of shipping tarp.
3. A toxin eater that deals with perchlorate and cleans the dirt.
4. A soil builder that leaves behind organic matter and nitrogen, turning the ground into something plants can use.
5. A photosynthetic pioneer that starts making oxygen and food.
sPL.001 is the indoor workhorse, not the outdoor pioneer. It lives in a heated, stirred bioreactor that holds temperature, pressure, and radiation at bay. What it can handle is the chemistry of Mars dirt: salts, perchlorates, heavy metals, and trace elements for nutrients available in the soil.
This is genuinely incredible. Living on and terraforming Mars is starting to move a lot closer to reality. Can't wait to hear about the next four microbes!
Today, Pioneer Labs is announcing our first step towards terraforming Mars. 🚀🌼
With equipment that fits in just a single rocket launch, we can convert Martian dirt, water, and air into enough building materials to construct a small city on Mars.
To do it, we made the first microbe for Mars. We found the best microbe on Earth and used evolution to teach it how to source all of its nutrients directly from Martian materials.
The first astronauts will be greeted with safe shelter already filled with water, oxygen, and rocket fuel for the return journey.
This is the first step toward using biology to make Mars a friendly place for life. It lets us live off the land and helps us build the next great frontier.
It's the first of five organisms we need to green Mars ⬇️
IMPORTANT 🚨 The Innovation Exemption does not let Robinhood offer its current Stock Tokens to people in the United States.
Robinhood’s tokens are tokenized debt securities issued by an offshore subsidiary. They give price exposure backed 1:1 by collateral (which may not be shares of the underlying stock) held at a US custodian, but they confer no voting rights, no shareholder rights, and no legal claim on the underlying company.
Robinhood itself states they are unregistered under US securities law and may not be offered or sold to US persons.
The SEC exemption only covers trading of “tokenized NMS stock” that gives holders the same rights as ordinary listed shares—including dividends and voting.
It explicitly excludes synthetics and other instruments that provide only economic exposure. Third-party tokens are allowed only if they meet that full-rights test and the underlying company does NOT object after receiving notice.
The order is also limited to permissioned on-chain trading venues (Tokenized Securities Venues using AMMs). It does not create a new registration exemption that would let Robinhood sell its existing debt token trash inside the US. To offer a US-compliant version, Robinhood would need a different legal structure that actually conveys shareholder rights and satisfies Securities Act requirements.
They may be working on that but companies like @AMCTheatres and @gamestop could easily opt-out from having those tokens created by Robbinghood.
Vlad's beginning to look a lot like SBF and Bernie Madoff...
@gaghyogi49 I also love this shot - mainly for the smoother hull plating close to the TOS constitution, rather than the earlier NX-looking plating from season 1. I feel like that was dialed back a bit, or the ship was upgraded.
