Children who show challenging behaviour are more likely to have been exposed to trauma. All too often,we try to correct the behaviour without looking at the child's pain based experiences. We spend more time on sanctioning & punitive measures

@RachelHorne19 Much of the medical model looks at physical symptoms without looking at the holistic whole being. Mind and body are inextricably linked. When we’re young we’re sensory beings so sometimes trauma or hard experiences don’t make logical or cerebral sense.
@blakersley_ Thank you Lizzie 🥰 It’s been brilliant to see you grow into the amazing teacher and mum that you are. I shall certainly miss working in school! Xx
End of an era of nearly 10 yrs working with amazing colleagues, children and families @DartingtonLAP @EllacombeLAP @LAPacademies
Thank you for everything!! 😊

Time out teaches children that isolation & suppression are the best ways to deal with feelings.🧠🌱
