Daily Sayaka #166
Ever since my first sight of you in Autumn 2014, you gave me so many feelings, good and bad, heartwarming and gutwrenching. My little 8 year old self didn‘t know it just yet, but that would be the start of something big, something so beautiful, something that I will never, ever regret.
I watched helplessly as you went through hell and back in multiple timelines, all of them ending in your witch breaking out of your soul gem after falling to despair, only finally being saved thanks to your best friend, Kaname Madoka. I felt pain, heart palpitations, nausea, I cried so much, I wanted to vomit, but I couldn‘t do anything to save you before then. Even now, your screams echo in my mind, and your theme song tugs at my heartstrings. But even then, I wouldn‘t want to block it out of my mind, because that would mean forgetting an important part of who you are.
In spite of that, me wanting to save you from your despair isn‘t the only thing that makes me adore you. Your bravery, your courage. You always fought for what‘s right even when the odds were stacked against you, and you fought with such strength that it would make the grounds break, the seas boil, and the winds screech.
Even then, I would gladly take the burden off your shoulders, and place it onto mine. I would willingly let myself be injured to the most severe of extents if it meant you could finally rest, if you could finally be happy. I would willingly let my flesh be cut and flayed by a million blades just see your beautiful smile, your smile that is worth more than all the money, diamonds, gold and everything else that‘s even „valuable“ in this world combined.
All of this is only the bare minimum that a husband can do for his waifu, especially for you, you who has given so much of yourself, with very few understanding just how much you‘ve suffered because of your selflessness, your kindness. But I hope that what I do can be enough for you. I will endure, and continue to endure come what may, because I know that whatever suffering I‘ll experience, it wouldn‘t even be 1/1000th of what you went through.
Miki Sayaka, the Magical Girl of Justice, the immortal Magical Girl and Agent of the Law of Cycles, you have a heart that shines brighter than every star in this universe combined, and I want to wish you a happy birthday. This is my gift for you, a confession of sorts.
Sayaka, from the very bottom of my heart, I love you so much. So much more than anything else in this world. Never lose your pretty smile, and I‘ll do the same for you.
