President Sheinbaum rightly highlights the role of US guns in fueling cartel violence. I mapped the thousands of gun dealers along the border states—nearly 9K. If the US is serious about fighting cartels, it must confront its own arms industry. #USMexico https://t.co/PNRwW6na38

We are just under a month before the August Primary Election in Michigan and Absentee Ballots are in our voters’ hands and are already starting to come back in.
Nex Benedict should still be here.
“Nex Benedict died one day after a fight in a school bathroom. Their mother Sue Benedict tells Bevan Hurley that the gender fluid teenager endured more than a year of abuse simply for being who they were.” @Independent
The trauma of gun violence doesn’t stop when the shooting does. Survivors, loved ones, and the entire community are forever changed. https://t.co/ZUONP8lgT5
One year after the shooting on my campus, 4 new gun safety laws were implemented in Michigan. I am extremely grateful for these changes, but there is still a lot of work to do. We will continue to show up and remind our lawmakers that gun safety must remain a legislative priority
On the one-year mark of the shooting at Michigan State University, MSU students held space for people to remember the victims. Days later, they rallied at the state capitol to demand further action on gun violence to prevent others from experiencing what they went through.
“We can and will honor them with action every single day.” - Saylor, Michigan Students Demand Action leader and MSU shooting survivor https://t.co/4T9Lmo6tYc
Introducing The Shotline, a platform where the voices of victims killed by gun violence have been brought back using AI technology. Now those voices can call our representatives again and again in hopes of changing our gun laws. Visit https://t.co/auVUBZkXnC to send a call.
In the year since the mass shooting at Michigan State University, MSU Students Demand Action leaders turned their pain into action, rallying on the steps of the state capitol and advocating for gun safety. But on the one-year mark of the shooting, they’re making space for their classmates—and themselves—to reflect and heal. ❤️ https://t.co/sE2WoJGG7u

Every student in our nation has a right to live free from the horror of gun violence.
I am proud of these young leaders on campuses across America for organizing and using their voices to call for actions that will save lives:

I was at the national vigil from @NewtownAction in DC while another shooting happened in Vegas. Maybe it is time for people to choose between getting involved NOW or receiving an invitation to the next vigil. BE PART OF THE SOLUTION BEFORE THE PROBLEM HITS YOU! @ChangeTheRef

Today republicans shot down 3 lifesaving gun bills. Hours later, there are reports of yet another mass shooting. This time, at UNLV.
This could have been prevented if these bills were passed. Sadly, Republicans serve the gun lobby and not the American people.
Just hours ago, @SenateDems tried to pass three gun safety bills in the Senate.
Now, UNLV students are sheltering in place due to a shooting on campus.
Republicans keep blocking progress and people keep dying. Enough is enough.
VICTORY! After tireless advocacy by our volunteers, Michigan @GovWhitmer just signed a bill into law that will prohibit people convicted of domestic violence misdemeanor offenses in Michigan from purchasing or possessing firearms.
The bill signing comes just as #SCOTUS is considering whether or not abusers under domestic violence restraining orders have a constitutional right to own guns in United States v. Rahimi.
Amazing job, Michigan! #ProtectSurvivors #MILeg
