On $DARK:

Alright, imagine you're me today. you're enjoying turkish kebabs for lunch while scrolling X for inspiration on one of the worst weeks in crypto. The one thing keeping you going is @mtndao's $MTN sale -- as the first futarchy-governed investment DAO forms around the best density of builder talent on @solana, you're thinking a lot about how in these shitty times, the light at the end of the tunnel is the relentless builder energy that has come to define solana's developer ecosystem. $MTN is an embodiment of that, and you're really proud of what the @mtndao community has built over the last three years.

Then, @tradewithrunner finds an experimental token you quietly launched 4 months ago on @pumpdotfun while testing video AI agents on pump's livestreaming feature. BullRunner writes a thread about it, people get excited, and everyone has the same question: does this token mean anything?

If you're me, you have a couple options:

1) Do nothing

Tokens launch on pumpfun every day. Most of them go to 0. Some of them go up a little, make for some fun gambling, and then go to 0.

These tokens are all irrelevant and mean nothing. Their value reflects that. Option #2 is much more interesting:

2) Build

Successful startups are ultimately three things:

a) Distribution (attention)
b) Product
c) Momentum

In an age where AI coding has absolutely transformed the speed at which products can be built, distribution is 99% of the work -- the hardest part about building startups is capturing (and, tbf, maintaining) attention.

Who am I to give up an opportunity where distribution has been sparked for me?

There has never been a more perfect time to build. But the (multi-billion dollar question) is: build what?

Coincidentally, I've been experimenting with something that could fit $DARK perfectly.

$DARK has always been an AI token. 4 months ago, I was thinking about agent swarm infrastructure -- but today, I'm thinking about something else:

MCPs are completely changing how agents are built.

There's a ton of opportunities with MCPs:

· MCP marketplaces
· MCP TEEs (especially in light of security vulnerabilities that have started emerging within MCPs as they take off)
· Vertically-oriented AI agents that solve problems previously unattainable for AI, but now powered by MCPs

Personaly, Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) capture my attention -- I think we could use $DARK to build a decentralized network of secure compute infrastructure for AI agents. If we succeed, it would be at the core of fueling verifiable MCPs.

It wasn't the plan, but given $DARK's new attention I think there's a real opportunity for us (every single one of you reading this post) to do something with it.

And, from today's energy, it seems enough people agree.

There's a lot of organizational infrastructure that would need to be put in place. Primarily:

· Funding, treasury, and development incentives (how do we grow a community to work on decentralized TEE infrastructure with the kind of velocity that build ai16z into what it is today?)

· Socials, community discussion, and engineering development channels

· A plan to integrate $DARK into the decentralized product, and a process to ensure that a pumpfun token can be integrated in a healthy way (the main thing I'm thinking about is the lack of control we have around the token holder base)

I want to make sure there's enough demand.

Here's what I propose:

If this post gets to 1k likes in the next 24 hours, we'll move forward with formalizing an organizational effort around $DARK.

Communication and development infrastructure will go up within 48 hours of getting to 1k, at which point we'll organize for public community discussion around the technical roadmap (I'll share how I've been thinking about things thus far to spark the conversation).

Decentralized efforts carry enormous compounding opportunity -- I'd love to see $DARK become something truly meaningful.
