Stable markets start with a strong private sector. 🌍
On April 27, CIPE was honored by the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce for advancing private sector growth. 🇪🇹
Why it matters for global and U.S. interests: ✅ Unlocks global value chains ✅ Drives competitiveness ✅ Creates new trade opportunities
By strengthening local institutions, we’re building a more transparent and resilient global economy.

Finally! PayPal support is here in Sri Lanka thanks to the current government’s efforts. Previous governments promised for over 15 years but couldn’t get it done. Massive win for freelancers, SMEs & our digital economy! 🇱🇰💳

Women entrepreneurs repay loans at higher rates than men yet get a fraction of the credit. That's not a gender problem. That's a $12 trillion market failure. Fix the policy, unlock the growth.
At CIPE, we don’t just support democracy and promote business. We support fair competition and strengthen supply chains. We expand opportunity for U.S. firms and products to trade, grow, and truly prosper. This is America's investment in a safer, more profitable global market.

🔴 Residence Visa: Invested, Qualified, Left in Limbo
👉 In October 2025, Sri Lanka issued its first visa under the Individual Investor Residence Visa category, under Gazette No. 2360/24 (Nov 2023). However, a two-year delay has left several foreign investors in a bureaucratic "limbo," told they are ineligible despite meeting the original requirements.
🤔Could this gap in a programme designed to attract foreign capital end up doing the opposite?
Former journalist @Charindra_Chan spoke to an investor caught in the transition, Nigel Pereira-Steckel (FCIPD, FCMI, Co-Founder & The Unplugged Coach at NiPe Mōmentus), and investment migration expert @Sazs (Founder – Magellan Champlain & Sri Lanka Field Officer of the IMC in Switzerland) on the real-world impact of this instance of policy inconsistency and what it means for Sri Lanka’s investment climate.

Honored to represent Sri Lanka as Field Officer for the Investment Migration Council Switzerland,
Investment migration is becoming an increasingly important pillar of global mobility and wealth planning. Excited to contribute to the conversation and the work ahead.
Just thinking about what we went through in the last few years as Sri Lankans
2018- Constitutional Crisis
2019- Easter bombings
2020&21- COVID 19 and Delta variant due to mismanagement
2022 &23 - Economic Crisis, protests and major economic issues, New Taxes
2024 - Somewhat a moderate year we thought we were rebuilding finally
2025- Dithwa Cyclone
2026- US - Iran war bringing fuel crisis back to us
When are we going to live like a normal country? Tired of this 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
