Three years ago, India did not just land on the Moon.

India proved it could build, navigate, autonomously land and operate a spacecraft on the lunar surface.

Chandrayaan 3 made India the first nation to soft land in the Moon’s southern high latitude region.

Pragyan detected sulphur in situ and travelled about 100 metres.

Vikram later performed a lunar hop, demonstrating a capability critical for future missions.

But the biggest achievement was bigger than the mission itself.

Chandrayaan 3 showed what decades of Indian engineering, science and indigenous capability can achieve.

India is no longer merely reaching space.

India is building the capability to operate there.

The Moon was a milestone.

It cannot be the destination.
