Heaven is not a place, and it is not a time. Heaven is being perfect. -And that isn’t flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn’t have limits. Perfect speed, my son, is being there.
Great points here. Trump would never talk this way about autocratic tyrants like Erdogan, Putin, Xi, and so on. Nor would he about wealthy monarchs who lavish him and his family with gifts, like Al-Thani in Qatar.
Trump has a remarkable talent for turning democratic allies’ elections into victories for the left.
In Canada, Conservatives were leading until Trump couldn’t stop talking about annexing Canada and making it the 51st state. Canadians understandably decided they didn’t want their country absorbed by the U.S., and Mark Carney coasted to victory.
Now he’s doing the same thing to Israel.
Trump doesn’t want strong allies. He wants compliant ones. A strong Israeli leader willing to call the Iran deal the Obama-style surrender it already is becomes a problem. A weaker leader who nods along becomes an asset.
I'm sure Trump would be happier with Yair Lapid at Israel's helm. Biden easily pushed Lapid into a gas field deal with Lebanon in 2022. Lapid, who was Israel's PM at the time argued the deal would undermine Hezbollah. We know how that worked out.
So when Trump starts publicly undermining Netanyahu while trying to sell another terrible Iran deal during a ceasefire that manifestly weakens America and every ally we have left, it’s not strategy. It’s the same self-destructive impulse that helped hand Canada to the left.
Trump’s greatest political opponent is often Trump.
The truth is, we all knew.
There was never a deal. It was never even close.
Today it is clear that Trump fundamentally misjudged what he was dealing with. Terrorist regimes do not surrender just because someone wants to talk. The Islamic regime was never going to give up its nuclear program - it was never part of their plan.
He also misjudged the internal opposition. Anyone paying attention understood that a regime which has spent decades murdering its own people would never allow unarmed civilians to overthrow it from the streets. After the January massacre, the people were told to wait.
The call never came.
They waited for that moment, but help was never coming.
Millions were left to face the regime alone.
Had the pressure campaign continued, much of the regime's military and strategic capability could have been dismantled. Only then would millions of Iranians have had a real opportunity to rise up and bring it down from within.
Instead, years of concessions, restraint, and the willingness to accommodate the regime's proxies sent a dangerous message. In Lebanon, that weakness became a turning point. It was a concession that both the regime and Hezbollah never expected to receive so easily.
The response should have been the exact opposite: sustained, overwhelming pressure on Hezbollah until its complete destruction, regardless of the fantasy negotiations taking place elsewhere.
Now we are told the Iranians deceived us and bought time. Of course they did. No normal, peace-seeking nation can negotiate its way to peace with a regime built on bloodshed and openly committed to the destruction of another nation.
Weakness invites aggression. Terrorists recognize it immediately. And the result is exactly what we see today: more terror, more instability, and a Middle East more dangerous than ever.
The Islamic regime today is even more extreme than before - a new form of terror, empowered by years of hesitation and Western weakness.
The only solution is to bring it down.
The Islamic Republic, in its support for Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, has started yet another military conflict and further revealed its anti-Iranian nature. This regime has taken the Iranian nation hostage and views the lives and property of Iranians as mere tools for exporting terror, war, and instability.
In this conflict, as always, the Islamic Republic is responsible for any damage to Iran's infrastructure and for the lives of innocent civilians on both sides. The Iranian nation, the first and greatest victim of this regime, knows full well that as long as the Islamic Republic remains in power, terror, violence, and instability will continue to loom over Iran, the region, and the world.
Peace, security, and sustainable prosperity are only possible with the end of this regime. The solution is not negotiation with the IRGC and the terrorist occupiers of Iran; the solution is to stand with the Iranian nation and support its struggle to bring an end to the Islamic Republic.
