@UrAvgJetsfan @LR2470 55 is safe because the organization never use the centers they draft as centers. Perfetti, Vilardi, Lambert, all drafted as centers but never play the position. They draft fast offensive players and try to develop them as 4th liners. It doesnt work that way.

Skinner let in alot of terrible weak goals that McDavid and Drais had to make up for. Helle's losses have a lot to do with the team not being able to score due to a garbage bottom / middle 6.

@nhlburnerboi Slavin is the comparable who is proven, durable, and better. Slavin signed a hugely team friendly deal because he knows the team needs cap space to sign better players to help them to the ultimate goal. That is experience and maturity right there.

@nhlburnerboi This is a great deal for both, 4.25 next year, which is what he would have most likely got in arbitration. Leaves room for Conners raise. He gets a decent raise the next two years to c9ntue progressing and getting better. Takes him to 29 yrs old to get the long-term $$ deal.
