@valerieandrew I also think covid has increased working from home and flexibility so what once attracted professionals needing school holidays is no longer a pull in to the sector

@valerieandrew Lack of recognition and equity of pay. A lack of respect for the role. Responsibility increased far quicker than the pay. So many talented SBMs have left to other sectors. It’s one thing being the sh*t shoveler of everything ‘non teaching’ but not being paid or respected, hurts

Mmm wonder what it would look like if we balloted SBL’s on terms and conditions vs pay vs workload vs senior leader peer pay review???? Wonder if the strategy for well resourced, efficient schools means paying the highly skilled professionals who make it happen fairly?

I love my job, I love my sector, I love making a difference. I hate working in an uphill battle, I hate trying to making the books balance, I hate the uncertainty, I hate seeing colleagues overworked and underpaid. BUT we will survive

Having been a business professional in education for 10 years I feel incredibly proud of our profession. I am worried about the amazing people leaving, I see an increase in inexperienced professionals taking their place and unable to deliver. What is the answer?

Mmmmm so SBL’s who sit on senior leadership teams influencing strategic direction and have been a key part of keeping education running. Will now under the new pay rise for teaching staff be paid on average inline with early career teachers…..seriously?
