I am always a big movie and drama enjoyer.i can watch any thing with good content and acting despite the language and culture. But before 2020 i never watched anything from k industry. During the pandemic, i watched my first kdrama that was love alarm... I felt so so.
A lot of K-drama fans don't know this. BUT, we all know lee yi kyung from Marry my Husband and Welcome to Waikiki right?
Have you noticed he has not been on our screen for some months now?
In 2025, actor Lee Yi-kyung was accused online by an anonymous individual who shared alleged screenshots of private conversations.
The allegations quickly spread across social media and sparked backlash.
However, after Lee's agency announced legal action, the accuser posted an apology claiming the conversations had been fabricated using AI.
The story then took several twists, with the accuser later changing their account multiple times.
Lee's agency ultimately filed legal complaints, insisting the allegations were false and vowing to pursue the matter through legal channels.
What's fascinating is how widely the accusation spread compared to the later developments.
It seems bad news always travels faster than corrections.
Guys, I feel so bad for this guy, Actor Jo Byeong Gyu
He was accused of bullying, and from what I know, After the allegations came out, he decided to sue the accuser to clear his name, and the whole thing turned into a legal battle. In 2021, police investigations had concluded that the allegations were fabricated and the accuser had apologised to him.
The craziest part? Because he was such a huge star with so many brand deals, the companies are reportedly demanding around ₩4 billion in penalties for the damage caused by the scandal.
He’s been presenting evidence and trying to prove he’s innocent, but according to the company, the evidence isn’t enough and he still has to pay. They’re basically saying they don’t care whether he’s guilty or not—the scandal happened, the brands were affected, and that’s all that matters to them.
But what about his reputation? His name and career are on the line too. 😭
What I can’t comprehend is that he’s still fighting to clear his name while the companies seem more focused on the damage to their brands than on whether the accusations were actually true or false.
This whole situation is just sad.
📰 Cha Eunwoo was mentioned in a Sports Seoul article about the changing military enlistment formula for celebrities and actors because he serves as a representative face of the strategy to minimize the traditional military hiatus by designing a way to reduce his activity gap and maintain contact with fans.
His movie <The First Ride> and the Netflix series <The WONDERfools> are works released during his military service period, proving how actors can leverage the industry's expanded pre-production system to keep content flowing continuously even while serving.
