@19klopp19 @wackermacker @age_cycling @fastwayireland Because the cyclist then has to swerve out into the car traffic coming up behind him. Simply adds unnecessary risk. He shouldn't block the cycling lane as much as he shouldn't block his side of the road (cars could also go around him there).

@klillington Looking at the events in Eventbrite, it seems that certain categories of events will continue to offer both (not necessarily at the same time). Online courses/talks are esp. popular during the week, whereas events at the weekend and holidays are mostly in-person.
