Our Discover Maths cohorts had an absolute blast at @cheltfestivals this week! There was so much to enjoy: an inspirational 'Careers in Maths' panel talk hosted by @Russell_Arnott; a fabulous Magic of Maths workshop hosted by @stecks; and tonnes of super fun STEM activities. WOW!

This term on Discover Maths our @st_berns @BDownSchool @MerchantsAc and @OAJohnWilliams cohorts have all had a fantastic time visiting @brunelsbridge, where they showed off their bridge building skills and proven themselves to be responsible Bridge Masters. Well done all!

Our Learning to Lead Y7 cohorts from Oasis Academy Brislington & Merchants Academy Secondary demonstrated amazing teamwork skills before setting off in catamaran canoes around the harbourside last week.

Last week our Y5 Learning to Lead students from @eactMAP and Fair Furlong Primary, along with their parents and carers, enjoyed the beautiful weather as they took a boat trip around the harbourside. Brunel even stopped by! Huge thanks to Bristol Ferry Co for a great experience ⛵

‘Wow!’ ‘Cool!’ ‘How?!’ were the words of the day when our L2L Y7 students from @OAbrislington visited @wethecurious_ last term, where they tested chemical reactions during a ‘Colourful Chemistry’ workshop and took a trip around the galaxy in the planetarium show! #learningtolead

Thanks so much to @GKNAero for hosting SBY at the GKN Global Technology Centre today. The team especially enjoyed donning the safety gear and taking a tour of the workshop space. We're all very excited to see where this new partnership may take us! ⭐

This term we have been running some exciting activities for our young people. We have had some lovely feedback and updates from our programmes and it is lovely to share ahead of the new term. We cannot wait to get started! 🌟

What a fantastic end to the term we've had on Discover Maths! Our cohorts from @AshtonParkSch @Bristol_BLC and @OABrislington visited @BrunelsBridge this week, where they used their maths skills to be the Bridge Master, explored the secret vaults and built their own bridges.

Earlier this term, our Fair Furlong L2L cohort visited @ASPolice at Portishead HQ. They learnt how to take fingerprints, took a tour of the control room and discovered more about the amazing work our police force do. Sitting in the police car was a definite highlight! #L2L

It's the last day of Term 3 and we'd like to thank all of the staff, students, partners & providers who have helped make this term such a success. We hope everyone has a restful holiday. We are already looking forward to activities starting again next term!

Our St Bernadette's Discover Maths cohort had a great day at @CouttsandCo last week where they learnt all about the services of the bank, the apprenticeships they offer and much more. They absolutely smashed the 'Mint or Skint' budgeting challenge - well done, @st_berns !

This week our @MerchantsAc Green Futures cohort visited Balfour Beatty for a work experience project day. They learnt all about protecting species on sites and even had a go at reviewing and capturing trap camera footage! Thanks, @BalfourBeatty
