🏆 Meet volunteer Special Police Constable James Woodruff who played a key role in saving a woman’s life.
James has been awarded a Chief Constable’s Commendation for his actions following the tragic murder of Sir Richard Sutton, and the attempted murder of his wife Anne Schreiber at a recent force award ceremony.
He was one of the first officers on scene that night and assisted in the first aid given to Anne Schreiber. Alongside his colleagues, James worked at maximum effort until this was taken over by the ambulance service, playing a key part in saving the life of the victim.
James demonstrated the true values of being a police officer and kept the Force’s purpose of keeping people safe and putting victims first at the forefront of his actions. He did everything humanly possible to save Anne’s life that night and this is why he deserves this commendation.
All this week we’ve been recognising officers, staff and members of the public who have gone above and beyond to support our communities in Dorset. Check back through our timeline for more inspirational stories.
If you have felt inspired by the bravery and commitment demonstrated, then why not apply today to become a part of it 👇
