Most multi-drone systems struggle with one thing: coordination under real-world constraints.
A paper in Science Robotics from TU Delft proposes a model-based approach that lets multiple quadrotors jointly move and orient a cable-suspended load.
BUT: without relying on learning or external sensors on the payload.
Key results reported:
> More than 8× acceleration of the load compared to previous state-of-the-art methods
> Full obstacle avoidance while maintaining internal collision safety
> Robust performance even when the load’s inertia model is uncertain
> No sensors needed on the load itself
Instead of data-driven models, they use a centralized trajectory optimizer that resamples past trajectories for smooth updates and stability.
Each drone then executes its reference locally using onboard INDI control.
It’s a reminder that not all progress in robotics comes from scaling models… some of it still comes from getting the physics and coordination right.

@naoufal_elh@bot The ability to “fix” or “focus” on one computer. I am connected to the same chat on my MacBook and my Windows PC, and Grok Bot will kind of forget which one it was supposed to use.
Or what if Grok USES my multiple local computers connected to the same chat? 🤷♂️
He couldn’t yawn or eat a burger for 15 years… then this happened on a cruise ship to Alaska. 🛳️
Alison Taylor (the specialist behind “Treating Without Pain”) was teaching a class aboard a Princess Cruises ship when Gina volunteered her husband Charlie as a live demo.
Charlie had lived with severe TMJ and jaw pain for 15 years. You can see his shocked reaction when his jaw finally moved properly, with disbelief and relief hitting him all at once.
It’s the kind of moment that gives real hope to anyone dealing with chronic jaw pain, locking, or tinnitus. Alison specializes in hands-on, pain-free techniques and shared the treatment so others could learn.
Wild that something this life-changing happened in the middle of a cruise.
Grok bot is really dam good. I like how it feels like you’re text messaging a person, rather than prompting an AI.
And then Grok bot actually creates a prompt in Cursor, and it’s way better than anything I could ever cook up.
@BobbyIngalls103@Rapid_Now Gotta take cover somewhere. Only thing available was that car’s engine block. Officer gotta stay alive to be in the fight to take out the bad guy.
I finally have all 1.2 million raw image files from my latest mission to ISS! Here is a sample of one of my favorite Milky Way photos, taken from the Cupola with Nikon Z9, Arri Zeiss 15mm lens, T1.8 with custom sidereal drive that cancelled out star motion relative to our orbit.
280 million year old fossils look like they came from another planet
These are fossils of Jimbacrinus bostocki, an extinct Australian crinoid. Although they resemble alien creatures, they were marine animals related to modern starfish and sea urchins.
