Focused on the ecology and conservation of diadromous species and dabbling in the taxonomy of freshwater fishes and shrimps | PhD candidate @hku_science
New open access in Hydrobiologia: Small #dams fragment assemblages of diadromous and freshwater #decapods in Hong Kong lowland streams https://t.co/oarDKBMEFJ
A fascinating #shrimp we discovered a few years ago is finally published! This species is still only known from a single locality and may be vulnerable to poaching for the ornamental trade.
High spatial variabiltiy and richness of #diadromous#fishes in Hong Kong. But of 32 species, only Anguilla marmorata (pictured) and Stiphodon multisquamus were able to ascend weirs < 2m in height.

Super stoked to embark on a PhD at @hku_science studying the diadromous animals (obligate sea <-> freshwater migrants) of Hong Kong with @jiahuanliew@JDGaitanEspitia and David Dudgeon!
Bonus pic of a catadromous Asian Sea Bass Lateolabrax sp. (japonicus/maculatus) from HK🐟
Just handed in my masters thesis. Felt great to be in the field without the feeling of guilt for once!
This is Stiphodon imeriorientis, one of the 5 Stiphodon species in Hong Kong. They are also one of the focal diadromous animals in the next stage of my career (🤞🤞🤞)
We compared turtle trade between online platforms and physical market in Hong Kong. Check out our new paper published in Biological Conservation

Forever grateful to my friends helping me set up the second half of my experiment in the mesocosms (post biocide dosage)! It's been a hectic few days and now it's back to the waiting game... @Microbial_Bio@AlexHHChan@clairetsui_ Yue & Hui Jin
Croucher Ecology - Issue 1: Land
This article highlights the research done in Hong Kong to reveal our ecology & biodiversity and their conservation issues. Many @HKUSBS staff, students & alumni are featured. Thankful to @croucherFDN. To read the story: https://t.co/5bU5LQ6H6R
