Linux Mint with Cinnamon is genuinely one of the best privacy-focused operating systems for people switching from Windows.
zero telemetry by default. No usage data sent to any company. No Microsoft Recall screenshotting your screen. no Windows telemetry hardcoded into the kernel that privacy settings can only reduce, never eliminate.
Cinnamon looks and works exactly like Windows 10. start menu bottom left. taskbar. familiar file manager. installation takes 20 minutes. the learning curve for a Windows user is the gentlest of any Linux distro.
open source. fully auditable. the entire operating system can be inspected by anyone. no hidden Intel ME equivalent baked into the OS layer.
no CVE published against Cinnamon in 2025 or 2026.
full Wayland support arrives in the next release Christmas 2026 which closes the remaining X11 security surface.
It's built on Ubuntu, which lacks SELinux by default. SELinux is a mandatory access control layer that limits what processes can do even if they're compromised. Mint ships AppArmor instead, which is softer.
a CVE dropped in June 2026 in mintupdate. patched in under three weeks. the team handled it transparently.
you're still using the same browser, the same web apps, the same services. switching to Mint removes OS-level surveillance. it does not remove Google, Meta, or your ISP.
For everyday privacy from corporate data collection: Mint is excellent. one of the best beginner-friendly choices on earth.
for journalists, activists, or high-value targets: Tails OS routes all traffic through Tor and leaves no trace on the machine. Qubes OS runs every activity in separate virtual machines. Snowden uses Qubes.
Linux Mint won't save you from your ISP.
but it will save you from your operating system.
@UltraDailyRecap @Project_Citadel @ultraarena_io @Ultra_platform bro it went -25% in 48h before that so kinda pointless. ranging between 15 and 40 cents for 2 years is kinda dead
@StoikUOS @Ultra4Life_@ultra_io@ultra The problem is how does the coin capture company success. Tokenomics are inflationary so this keeps dumping until new suckers buy the bags. Since it won't happen anytime soon - game releases more than a year out, it's GG for bagholders
