One thing I love about @RadixDLT and other low-fee L1s is the ability to experiment with DeFi without having to sell a kidney to pay fees!

The past few days I've been having an internal conflict regarding the #bitcoin #etf & the others that will inevitably follow.

My conclusion is that they are a pack of wolves in sheepskin.

#crypto was intended to be about self sovereignty, the "be your own bank", a means to exist outside the system, a choice. Of course there was always a speculative nature to crypto but it seems recently, that is all the majority is interested in.

The introduction of #etfs allows tranditional institutions to accumulate large quantities of any asset an etf is issued for. They will become the primary custodians & with that comes control. Control over the markets, control over supply via hording.

A syndicate arises who, after a conference call, can decide to move the market in any direction they choose because of the credit lines & other financial instruments available to them thanks to those assets on the books.

You can't trade against them, you can't compete against them, you're simply along for the ride. Because of their significant holdings, new bills of law will be significantly influenced by them in their favour.

I've long hated that @saylor holds such a significant quantity of bitcoin, it's a position of power that allows him to act in the ways highlighted above if he chose to. We got very lucky with @saylor as I believe him to be a true champion of crypto, but even he will be dwarfed by these institutions in terms of portfolio & thus influence over the coming months.

We had a real opportunity here & I feel it's already gone.

Shame on you that cheered when the #etfs were approved, hoping it would pump your bags in USD, so you could cash out & be a traitor to the alternative system that gave you the opportunity to disconnect from fiat currencies.

As I said, #crypto gave you a choice, enjoy the dollars & the fact they'll be worth 50% less in 15 yrs or less.
