Shoutout to those who believe denying #ClimateChange is smart. It only permits Trump & others to rollback laws that cleanse our land, water, & air, reduce microplastics & forever chemicals, while increasing corporate $. #Pollution makes us all sick. Wake up and hug a grandchild.
The NYT ran my letter asking, "why is your country allowing your president to exact crushing economic warfare against my country?" ‘Economic Warfare’ https://t.co/hcqp62bZno
#DrPhil argues #DonaldTrump can’t be wrong all of the time, thus anti-Trumpers have to learn to accept when he is right, as with #IranWar. By this sound logic, cons must accept libs like #NancyPelosi or #MarkCarney are sometimes right. Oh, and the Constitution is sometimes wrong.
@nytdavidbrooks In your recent Atlantic piece, which asks why so many people like Trump, you tell Democrats: “don’t feel too self-righteous here. If he was on your team, most of you would like him too.” Nope. Never. Some of us still live in that moral universe you long for.
@maddow As a new Canadian listener, am enjoying your coverage of 1st 100 days. You have reported on Trump’s tanking polling, but your listeners might benefit from a better breakdown of the numbers—is his base turning against him, or not? Also, I find “by a margin of” too vague!
@MarkJCarney@JonathanWNV “Threat of tariffs” is a vast understatement. Call it what it is: Economic warfare. I would like to hear @MarkJCarney address the brutal reality for Canada if Trump brings the full force of economic warfare against America’s friend to the North. #TrumpTariffs#EconomicWarfare
@calxandr@EuropeanPravda Chris: I am lucky that during my 30-years in the Canadian Forces we had journalists like @davidpugliese, who challenged us with his relentless pursuit of the truth. Players who want to control the message are the real problem. Vindictive attacks add little to informed debate.
@WHMTE@MercedesGlobal It’s hard to develop good government or military communications when the politicians want all the face time. With rampant foreign interference and other sources of disinformation, politicians need to better leverage the communications potential of the bureaucracy & the military.
@Scanlon_Leslie@rongarson1@crockpics@amazon Indeed, I used to crank up Smoke on the Water on my mother’s Altec speakers in the basement. My favourite Deep Purple song remains Child in Time. And now I have even louder speakers… : )
@sbrucecanada@jodyfisher Point taken! I think you make very good points, especially WRT training. TBH, I was thinking more of media relations, as you allude. Still, it is important read and reach your audience, including one of journalists—what are their questions telling you, is your message resonating.
@sbrucecanada@jodyfisher Media are a key audience too. When phones start ringing, they may know more than you—these “conversations” can be helpful in building your picture both of the crisis & how it is being perceived. And, inter alia, it helps if media perceive your spokesperson & company as credible…
@MatMcLachlan Okay, thanks. I just wondered if you were implying other bodies were repatriated for other reasons. Again, great story, thanks for sharing.
@cdnpao@CDN_PAO@OttawaCitizen 1, CDNunderscorePAO (@CDN_PAO) get your own handle. 2, for many, military & CAF are synonyms. My mom often says I was in the “army” (I was Navy). For many “army” = “military.” 3, This is a weak attempt to smear @davidpugliese—if you have a point, park the smear, be constructive.
@TimDocChoi Academic integrity? Where's the integrity in insults? Integrity refers to the quality of being honest & having strong moral principles, which IMHO describes @davidpugliese. Make your point wisely and respectfully. Value the #FreePress. Don't attack it. It's already under assault.
