There are so many different creative formats within the genre of children’s literature. We can learn so much from childrens lit, even as adults. I’ve learned to not only research but really dive into this topic and start to see this genre as a genuine tool for educators. #CIEP206
The illustrations in the book “Pumpkin Town” by Katie Mcky are like nothing I have seen in a children’s text before. The pictures are so stimulating and well drawn! This is also a perfect fall read. Overall a great book! #CIEP206- fall 2022
Graphic novels are a great method of teaching important social issues to children! The novel “New Kid” is a great example of powerful writing in this format. The author, Craft shares real life experiences in an engaging format. #ciep206 - fall22
Hair love is a beautiful book that shows strong father figures and exemplifies self love for young children of all backgrounds. #ciep206-2022

We begin to self actualize through the world around us, and literature is a big part of that. Inclusive literature ensures that all students have the opportunity to explore their identities through accessible text. Diversity in text ensures accessibility. #ciep206-fall22
