Just a reminder - this Friday at 7pm #Jubilee Bingo Night in aid of the Kingfisher Café in #Bridlington 🥰

[Scarborough Unitarian Church @ScarbUnitarians]

This Friday is our monthly bingo evening with a Celebration for the Jubilee. We are raising money for the Kingfisher Cafe in Bridlington (an amazing local charity supporting the homeless). Starts at 7.00pm. Bring food and drinks to share to make it a fun evening to remember☺️

We are all set and ready to welcome you tomorrow at 10:30am for the Easter open table communion service! ☺️

It makes no difference what you believe or don’t believe. How you pray, if you pray. Whom you love or how you struggle. Everyone is worthy to participate.😇HAPPY EASTER🐣

This Sunday we’ll mark the beginning of the holiest week in the X-tian calendar as we reflect on the timeless truths of the great drama of the final week before Easter:
From raised hopes to disillusions,
Dragged through hell to raise again.
Learning compassion, fragility &courage

Our community has managed to raise £215 for the Red Cross Ukraine Appeal on Friday. We know this is just a drop in the ocean of the humanitarian needs right now, but for our tiny, tiny community it’s quite a lot! We’d like to wholeheartedly thank all who came to our fundraiser!🇺🇦

Just a reminder that our Ukraine fundraiser bingo takes place tonight at 7pm. All are welcome! And even if bingo isn’t your thing - you can always come just for company ☺️

"Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore" (Isaiah 2:4) - these words from the ancient Hebrew scriptures inspire us today to pray, hope & work for a more peaceful world 🌎⚔️☮️

As we prepare to hold our first same-sex wedding at @ScarbUnitarians later this year, I’m discovering that the congregation held same-sex blessing ceremonies decades ago… (of course, they couldn’t do legal same-sex weddings back then!) 🏳️‍🌈💗

Our hearts are breaking for the people of Ukraine at this terrible time. We pray for their freedom and independence, for an end to their suffering, and for peace 🇺🇦😢💔

Transgender people, and especially youth, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, just like everyone else. We see you. We love you. God loves you, just as you are. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
