When Corntown launched, we never intended to say what we are going to do. We always wanted to show you directly.
Today, we are going to tell you how what we are doing is going to benefit you in the long term.
Like a mission statement, but the Corntown way.

I don’t know if this has been talked about already but I think I found an issue with the new OS smart contract, and the OS filtering for royalties being enforced on chain.
Comparing 2 collections, one with royalties enforced and one without royalties enforced, I found out that there is a significant price increase when it comes to gas.
Royalties pre enforcement where set off chain, data was then stored presumably in a .json array and given to the OS contract, which would then distribute the royalties from their own contract to the designated address. The smart contract of OS could distribute the royalties how they wanted, even bulk multiple in 1 transaction.
Looking over at the current contract, with the filter in place, it looks like for every sale there are 3 transfers happening:
1. Transfer of funds from buyer to seller
2. Transfer of funds from buyer to creator for royalties
3. Transfer of NFT from seller to buyer
Step 2, which requires an additional 5-6$ in gas, happens for every sale and it’s not bulked. This means that for every NFT we are purchasing, we are spending an additional 5-6$ to transfer royalties to the creator, in a separate transaction.
I have compared 2 collections, one with royalties on Chain and one without, the gas is impressive. At 38 Wei, here are the results:
- No royalties
Buy 1 NFT ~ 9$ gas
Buy 2 NFT ~ 14$ gas
- Royalties on Chain
Buy 1 NFT ~ 17$ gas
But 2 NFT~ 31$ gas
You can try this for yourself as well. My parameters were:
Only listings from the same marketplace (Opensea, sweeping from OS pro)
Same wallet, same gas settings, same time.
Sorry for the long post, here is a potato 🥔
Ps. If you find the same issue, let me know in the comments below and share this tweet. It would be interesting to see how this develops
Oh and if you don’t know, we just released some hilarious faqers called FAQs, they are basically free on OS so shoot your shots 😉

Hey Anon…
If there are less than 10k active wallets trading NFTs…how come your favorite new upcoming project that you want WL so badly for, has 100k followers on Twitter?
Something doesn’t add up 💀
