a shutdown is NOT for a president to leverage his power for personal goals. it’s NOT for bargaining back and forth between parties about something INESSENTIAL to regular government operations. this is an abuse of 45’s position and is NOT what the U.S. stands for.
I’m sure someone is probably fact-checking the debate… maybe… perhaps. But who’s gonna call out the dog whistles and white nonsense?
Lets Blackcheck the debate
A (live) thread:
“But there is one thing that I can do all by myself.”
“What is that?” asked Frog.
“I can go home,” said Toad. “Winter may be beautiful, but bed is much better.”
I don't know if you guys realize that there is now a (very famous) precedent for how saying publicly that you are a victim of domestic violence, without naming your abuser, is considered defamation
FYI this isn't stopping. There have been 18 mass shootings SINCE Uvalde.
You need to know this. Because it's not going to stop until we do something.
1/ Here's just a sampling of the slaughter in the last six days:
Any portrayal of a "good cop" is not a portrayal of a cop engaging in their job. If a cop helps someone for any reason, it is entirely external to their identity as a cop. They might have done a "good thing", but a doctor who holds the door isn't necessarily a "good doctor."
The thing about having "guns" as your hobby, is that if my hobby had turned into the number one reason of death for children, I would just find another hobby.
Angel Garza, whose ten year old daughter Amerie was murdered, holding her photo to his heart:
"How do you look at this girl and shoot her? Oh, my baby. How do you shoot my baby?"
"There's 50 Senators right now who refuse to vote on HR 8," Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said in an exasperated plea for politicians to take action on gun reform.
"There's a reason they won't vote on it — to hold onto power." https://t.co/GEBBUWxDOd
@RepAndyHarrisMD chronically votes against gun control. he is a part of the problem. he REFUSES to do his part to stop these deaths. do not re-elect him when the time comes.
“Why are you here?!"
A furious Sen. Chris Murphy demands answers from senators following Texas school shooting.
“Why do you spend all this time running for the United States Senate...if your answer, is as the slaughter increases, as our kids run for their lives—we do nothing?”
