Also, Aang's situation with the war is not a 1-to-1 comparison.

He pointed out the difference in the North and South's spiritual energy (the Northern Lights). He was a known and trusted political leader

Nobody actually warned her, the closest thing is Tonraq saying that she doesn't even know if what Unalaq says is true, to which Unalaq had a response

Either way Unalaq just did a good job of driving a wedge between Korra and Tonraq + Tenzin and impressing her with his spirit knowledge
