FINAL UPDATE:

I have spoken with the lady. She is safe. Her mobile phone and international passport were held by Customs who were trying to clarify some issues. She was unable to reach anyone while the process was ongoing. However, she has been cleared and released, and has possession of her properties. She has contacted her family, too.

She assured me that she is safe, and she appreciates everyone who showed concern for her safety.

I would like to thank a dear Nigerian, @YusufAdesoga, who collaborated wot me and, at great inconvenience, visited all security agencies in Doha, and eventually tracked the lady to where she was found today.

Mr. Yusuf is exemplary, and I appreciate his effort.

I must also acknowledge the lady's brother, Jibo, for sounding the alarm bell when his sister went incommunicado. He refused to back down, and his effort got millions of Nigerians united in an effort to find his sister.

Thanks to everybody for the kind words of support and encouragement. Thanks for uniting in a moment such as this.

This is the same issue I have with Ola of Lagos when he’s advertising cars. When you’re trying to sell something luxurious, the selling point in luxury is not the price, but the idea behind the item, the story, the craftsmanship, the years it took to master the craft, and the history.

Just making a shoe and calling it 25M one-of-one doesn’t make it luxury. Talking about the type of leather used, the type of thread, the sole, the durability, how it’s constructed, the finishing, and the presentation, now that’s what can be considered luxury. And nope, all those still won’t justify a 25M price tag, but it’ll be close.

Another important part is how you market and where you market to. There’s a reason Rolls-Royce and Bugatti do 90% of their marketing at private jet sales events and not on Twitter or billboards.

No one is asking you not to sell luxury, but I’m not sending a DM on WhatsApp to buy a 25M shoe.

Anytime police stop me for search, I cooperate fully.

A lot of Nigerian youths don’t realize that knowing your rights — and staying lawful — is powerful.

If your way is clean, you have nothing to fear.
